I remember the stories Dada Jee would tell me about the treatment of the Brits when he served in ww2, his journey to UK and what he and my dad went through. I remember as a kid when chavs attacked him (80something frail old man) and knocked off his Dastar. Uk is still shit.
Being brown in 1970s/80s Britain was hard enough, but being a visible Sikh in a Turban almost always made you a target. That’s why I’ll always have huge respect for Sikhs who maintained their identity during that period because that was real
