On August 9th, Harman Singh spoke at @interfaithusa's Leadership Summit in Chicago. Harman joined Stephanie Summers, CEO of @cpjustice & Chris Crawford, Senior Director at IA to discuss "Civic Pluralism: Bringing Faith to Politics and Public Life for the Common Good".

Most pressingly, we urge Secretary Rubio to accept the longstanding recommendation of the U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom to designate India as a Country of Particular Concern. Read our most recent letter to the Department of State -->

. and other instances of threats, harassments, surveillance, coercion, Interpol abuse, and mobility controls. We are grateful to the Department for documenting these reported instances of TNR and other human rights abuses, but more must be done for meaningful accountability.

It also cites instances of transnational repression by the government of India (GOI), including the U.S. indictment of a GOI employee for plots to assassinate Sikh Americans, the Canadian government’s allegations of the GOI's role in the murder of Hardeep Singh Nijjar . .
