Turning around a decade of Tory dependency on migration won’t happen overnight. This government is focused on a Britain where work, skills and opportunity start at home. 🇬🇧

Here’s what I’ve been up to recently 👉 As your Deputy Leader, I’ll be your Campaigner in Chief, by your side, making members proud of our government and proud to knock on doors.

Turning around a decade of Tory dependency on migration won’t happen overnight. This government is focused on a Britain where work, skills and opportunity start at home. 🇬🇧

This Labour government is: ✅ Linking visas to training ✅ Workforce plans for key sectors ✅ Making work pay for people already here ✅ Investing in skills so Britain grows its own talent

The truth is, much of the over-reliance on migration happened under the Tories. After 14 years of neglecting skills and training, sectors like care and construction were left short staffed forcing businesses to look overseas.

Rachel Reeves said- “We won’t turn to immigration as the easy answer.” Labour’s plan ties immigration to skills, employers who hire abroad must invest in training British workers. Creating good jobs for people here is the priority not importing short term fixes.

Labour has said repeatedly it wants to reduce reliance on overseas labour and train people here for the jobs our economy needs. 🧵

Gone are the days where you have to leave your hometown to get a good job. Technical Excellence Colleges, based in our industrial heartlands, will train the next generation of plumbers, electricians and welders. That’s national renewal.

It’s #WorldMenopauseDay. As someone going through perimenopause, I know how vital it is we keep breaking the silence. Women fought hard for menopause rights in the UK, from workplace policies to HRT access. Let’s keep pushing for awareness, research, and compassion for women!

These incidents have understandably caused deep concern, especially among women in our community. No woman should ever feel unsafe or live in fear of such violence. I’m in close contact with @WMPolice as their investigation continues.

The recent arrests connected to the rape in Halesowen and the racially aggravated rape in Oldbury of a sikh woman, are an important step forward in the investigation. My thoughts remain firmly with the victims of these horrific crimes. https://t.co/f1Dd9Bh8F3

Honoured to join @TanDhesi and @Jas_Athwal this afternoon to celebrate #BandiChhorDivas with the Sikh community in Rail. A time to reflect on freedom, courage and faith. 🕯️

I agree with the Prime Minister, banning Maccabi Tel Aviv fans from attending the Villa match is the wrong decision. Football should unite, not divide. Safety matters, but so does fairness.
