My dad—arguably the best in the world—has sailed away. He was an advocate of science, a caring cardiologist, and a history enthusiast. He loved telling jokes and making people laugh. I will do the same: laugh and make laugh, until we meet in the deep blue. So it goes.

This is something we are very excited about. @lodder_bart led this development project collaborating with @LinTianPhD lab. The technology makes lifetime photometry easy and, with the new dopamine sensor, allows measurements of phasic and tonic DA in vivo.

Kindness trumps excellence. My dad, a farmer’s son who became a pioneering cardiology professor, was remembered after his passing not for his academic/career achievements but for his acts of kindness. It goes to show that kindness outlasts success. Kindness is timeless.

It may surprise the tax payer, but I work for a company that thinks “because the exact same item was 60% cheaper there” is not a justified reason to pick vendor A over the company approved (read favorite) vendor. I suppose research dollars aren’t real money.

Happy to share the latest from @Hamid_DiRE_lab. The RL community has made important strides in understanding flexible behavioral control, especially wrt dopamine. But a longstanding, vexing puzzle is the relationship b/n “phasic” and “tonic” DA.
