No amount of shouting at people who support assisted dying life will change the facts. This Bill has overwhelming public support and did so before, during, and after the Bill's progress through the Commons. https://t.co/U8Nk6oOqBh

Three quarters of Britons still think assisted dying should be legal in principle, with 72% supporting Kim Leadbeater’s proposals

Community notes on assisted dying content are nothing but a confirmation bias engine for opponents . One quick Google proves @HarrietHarman is right. "Most Britons support assisted dying in both principle and practice" @YouGov

Public opinion is in favour of Assisted Dying Bill. It seems too that a majority of peers want Assisted Dying Bill to be thoroughly scrutinised and then get sent back to Commons. It is therefore not “The Lords” which is blocking the Bill, but a minority of peers who are

Today the Lords start the process of debating over 900 amendments (579 of which laid by just 7 peers) to the assisted dying Bill. As they do, lets hope they have people like Ed front of mind. #YesToDignity

"Do not risk our legitimacy by claiming that we know better than both the public and the other place" Lord Carey warns the Bishops Bench and the House of Lords about the profound consequences of rejecting a Bill with such a strong democratic mandate.

After intense scrutiny in the Commons, the Terminally Ill Adults (End of Life) Bill now proceeds to the House of Lords. This is an important part of the passage of the bill and I’m very grateful for the engagement so far from peers #ChoiceAtTheEndOfLife

More than 200 peers want to have their say next week. But the public would take a dim view of any attempt to derail it, says Lord Falconer

"Assisted dying gives terminally ill people that choice to die on their terms." As Clinical Lead for the implementation of Voluntary Assisted Dying in New South Wales, Dr Wade Stedman sees first-hand the difference a compassionate law makes to dying people and their families.

NEW: The government has announced that this session of parliament will last until spring 2026. Among other things, that means that the assisted dying bill has another 7-8 months to complete its passage through the Lords, increasingly the likelihood of it becoming law.

10 years ago, my best mate Bob ended his own life at Dignitas. I haven't stopped fighting for choice since he died. We're closer to law reform than ever before, but we need your help. https://t.co/T5bOxja6mX

Lack of data around deliverance ministry @churchofengland is just one aspect here that we need to address. The long term psychological impact of being told that you have demons is one that too many people have to live with & manage for a lifetime. There needs not to just to be
The C of E's House of Commons representative has said that the church does not know how many children have been subjected to 'exorcisms' under its auspices, in response to a parliamentary question we worked on with @sam_carling_. https://t.co/IgCSev4wTu

Jenrick and Nads both against assisted dying. If MPs back this choice, they are certain on the right side of history.
Labour, the party of death. Ending life, their top priority. De criminalising abortion up to the point of birth and assisted dying. Not sure people voted for this. @RobertJenrick tells his own story in todays @DailyMailUK

Fingers crossed that Parliament listens to dying people and the public today. #YesToDignity
"This is not about wanting to die, but to be able to live the rest of my life with the peace and comfort of having choice. I have come to terms with the fact that my life has been shortened, and I do not fear death, but I do fear how I'll die.” @sophieRblake #letuschoose

A theme from anti choice MPs and campaigners: all change they don't like is "rushed". They've lost the moral argument, so must resort to complaints about process. But there's no doubt they would respect the process if it restricted access to abortion or assisted dying.
Julia Lopez (@JuliaLopezMP) points out these major abortion changes deserve more than a rushed debate. This is not responsible law-making - even pro-abortion MPs can't agree on how to make such radical changes to our abortion laws.

This is shaping up to be historic week for self-ownership and personal autonomy in this country. Huge thanks to the MPs who supported abortion rights yesterday and will champion assisted dying on Friday.
This Friday, MPs will vote on the assisted dying Bill. It all comes down to this - Tag your MP and ask them to vote yes. If it passes, the Bill continues its journey in the House of Lords - if not, it falls. This could be our last chance to secure a compassionate law.

"Palliative and end-of-life care and assisted dying can and do work side by side to give terminally ill patients the care and choice they deserve in their final days." Last week @kimleadbeater made the case for choice at the end of life
