Suddenly feeling very nostalgic and missing the trick or treating days with Maya! We always had so much fun getting dressed up, watching Halloween films, carving pumpkins and decorating the house. Instead tonight she’s off to a Halloween party at a club and I’m already in my

“I think we must be careful not to be paternalistic.” Sir Tom Shakespeare told the Lords Committee that the assisted dying Bill gives terminally ill people choice — not instead of palliative care, but as another tool in its arsenal — with safeguards that protect autonomy and

I’m fighting to live and I’m doing everything I can to stay alive, for my daughter and for all the moments that still matter. But I also want the choice of how I die, because every terminally ill adult deserves compassion, dignity and a say at the end of life #YesToDignity

“The majority of disabled people support assisted dying.” Sir Tom Shakespeare said the Bill is more compassionate and safer than the current law — and evidence from countries where assisted dying for terminally ill adults is legal shows that these laws work safely.

Absolutely right from @Humanists_UK A hugely disrespectful decision by the House of Lords Committee. How can peers discussing the ‘Terminally Ill Adults’ Bill NOT hear from terminally ill adults and their families? You would not do this to any other group of vulnerable people.

It is unbelievable that not a single session for the Terminally Ill Adults Bill Committee will include terminally ill people. You cannot exclude their voices. Their experience is vital in understanding the workability of the proposed. #AssistedDyingBill https://t.co/0Psp72PN2U

It was great to finally meet Kevin @Storiesofc62048 on Saturday at the Fighting to be Heard book launch. We could’ve chatted for hours! Kevin has published a fantastic book "Stories of Cancer and Hope" featuring 39 people who've been affected by cancer, sharing their stories to

Always a pleasure meeting people from our cancer community. Bumping into @sophieRblake on Saturday night was a delight. Though our cancers are different, we share similar experiences and felt like we’d known each other for years. Sophie is helping people affected by cancer.

The Fabric of Our Lives. Metastatic Breast Cancer (MBC) doesn’t get the headlines. It doesn’t get the research funding it deserves. It doesn’t even get counted properly - because data on those living and dying with it is still missing. We speak up. We advocate. We ask for

.@kimleadbeater says it plainly: when the law concerns dying people, we must hear from them and their families. They know best why change is needed - no loved one should face grief and the fear of prosecution, and no dying person should be forced to suffer against their wishes.

The House of Lords Select Committee into the Terminally Ill Adults Bill will not be taking evidence from those, like me, with lived experience, and our loved ones. This is what I would say:
