My husband is Irish. He chose Ireland & went through a protracted process to become legally an Irish citizen. Trying to create a differential between people who have naturalised as Irish citizens & those born in Ireland is deeply problematic & often rooted in racism & exclusion.

We don't get a choice in where we are born, but sometimes in life, we do get a choice in where we call home. Picking apart how long someone has been Irish and where they were born is ugly, it does a disservice to all of us who form part of the Irish nation.

I’ve actually witnessed people on here confidently stating that Jeremy Clarkson, a 64 year old man and ex smoker who smoked 40 cigarettes a day for 43 years, had to have heart surgery because he’s had the Covid vaccination. Never underestimate the stupidity on this website.
