Mary Ann Ahern @MaryAnnAhernNBC is covering the story that most Chicago journalists aren't ready to report: Lori Lightfoot is not in a position to make the runoff. Chuy and Vallas have much stronger bases of support to advance to a runoff. What wards do Lightfoot actually win?

It's official: Illinois voters approve changes to the state constitution to enshrine collective bargaining rights and ban future efforts to implement Right to Work policies. With 2,113,534 votes in favor, there is no longer any mathematical path for the amendments defeat.

Illinois Amendment 1 PASSES, which enshrines the right to collective bargaining in the Illinois Constitution. While the amendment did not get 60% of the amendment question vote, it met the other legal requirement to get more than 50% of total ballots cast in the election. #twill
