Despite promising to expand public transit funding in the last election, @MarkJCarney and his government decided to quietly cut funding, leading cities further towards a transit death spiral. From me and @ttcriders in the National Observer: https://t.co/awuGVX8Wok

If the federal government truly believes in building communities that work for everyone, it needs to stop treating transit as secondary and start treating it as what it is: vital national infrastru...

No accountability. From the moment we arrived at this press conference we were instructed to ask “on-topic” questions only, and that we would be given “one question each” when we were called on. I was never called on & Premier Ford refused to take my questions.

I learn new and ridiculous things about our city every day. Today, I learned that Toronto’s definition of “Transit Signal Priority” is not what most people/transit experts consider it to be. The definition is simply extending green times if a streetcar is approaching. It does
Yes, the Finch LRT is too slow. I know, I rode it twice It has to move faster. I'll bring a council item to give it signal priority, and see what else we can do.

Doug Ford demands installation of more bike lanes on Finch so he can blame them for slow LRT speeds

Here we fixed it: https://t.co/RcNw0dZe02 Whether its the Ring of Fire, various public transit projects throughout the GTA or Highway 413 - anyone else getting tired to these announcements that amount to nothing?

The Ontario Government announces a 'milestone' for Highway 413, despite not securing key permits and actual construction being more than three years away.
Exciting progress on Highway 413! 🚧 We’ve just announced the RFP for the 9 kilometre stretch that will extend Highway 410 to the new 413 corridor. 🚗 Less gridlock. More jobs. Faster commutes. We’re building Highway 413 to save drivers 30 minutes each way and support over

Wow. Today on @PnPCBC, Algoma Steel president Michael Garcia delivered a pretty catastrophic blow to the head of Poilievre and his Cons, stating that the industrial carbon tax not only isn’t destructive; it oppositely ends up being *beneficial* for his industry.

while a bus lane may appear empty to a driver stuck in traffic, in reality, it moves passengers far more efficiently and getting rid of bus lanes can actually worsen traffic by making buses less reliable and forcing more people to drive
RapidTO is already causing havoc on Dufferin as cars remain backed up while the red bus-only lane remains barren. With so many cars sitting idle, carbon emissions will surely increase to the horror of environmentalist councillor @DianneSaxe who championed the RapidTO plan. A

Prefab remote workforce accommodation buildings are made by Alta Fab in Calgary and ATCO in Edmonton. One-tenth the cost of an apartment unit. So we could afford ten times as many. Not great, but much better than a group shelter bed or a tent. Most homeless folks like them.
Love these remote workforce accommodation prefab buildings. Seem to be the least expensive way to give homeless folks a room with a lock - which they say, is the main thing they want. So much better than an overnight bed in a group shelter (government's permanent default option

Since Doug Ford took office, the number of Ontarians using food banks has doubled, and the number of visits has nearly tripled. Protect Ontario? What a sick joke. The Conservative caucus is looking out for themselves, their pals, and their donors. https://t.co/86lQfysrwQ

Whoa. It’s called “zoom” - quite a way to respond to the Coastal First Nations request for a meeting especially when he refused to meet them before the MOU that directly affects them was announced - while doing over 50 meetings with fossil fuel lobbyists.
HODGSON: It's called Zoom. I think that's what we're using. COCHRANE: I understand. But I'm also not a Coastal First Nation Chief.

Some people say Carney okayed the new pipeline because he thinks Danielle Smith will never get the financial backing she needs to build it but I think Carney's overlooking the fact Danielle can simply apply for a Ontario Skills Development Funds grant to pay for the pipeline.

We’ve reached another important milestone in our plan to build the Bradford Bypass! Early works are well underway for the future highway, which will cut travel times by more than 30 minutes and support more than 2,200 jobs during construction.
