The group Crisis in the City is doing this event. I am sharing the media release. It's certainly good to see this style of action happening again. David Walsh was a co-founder of Toronto Disaster Relief Committee with extensive ability to support out of the box solutions.

🧵Such negligent public health response. @TOPublicHealth puts out the info. That’s about it. Many clinics just say go to pharmacies. Pharmacies 100% incapable of managing a mass public vaccination program.
Got my Covid vax #11 ✅ thanks to a pharmacist who was working a 12 hr shift solo at a drug store Sunday. Meanwhile, @UnityHealthTO which has 2 primary care Family Health Teams with over 50 doctors & nurses at 7 locations is not providing Covid💉to patients. 😡 #privatization

New from NHAs' blog: Bill 60, as proposed, will make it easier & faster for landlords to evict tenants. We focus on 6 proposed changes under Bill 60, exploring how they will erode tenant protections & further fuel Ontario's homelessness crisis. 👇🧵 https://t.co/fkXY2uzRpb

The broken promise on housing particularly painful this Remembrance Day. It was WWII vets who fought for a national housing program.
"On #Housing - we have the beginnings of #BuildCanadaHomes (@BuildCanHomes), a tax-cut for new homebuyers... it falls short of these specific promises in our platform & it unfortunately falls well short of the 'WARTIME EFFORT' that many of us thought we'd deliver..." - @beynate

Periodically the Toronto monthly Homeless Memorial coincides with Remembrance Day. Mark Carney’s budget reduction to his housing promises will be catastrophic. All while military spending gets a robust boost. It can be watched today at noon on Church of the Holy Trinity FB site.

And the bandaid is ripped off.
Warming Centres are now closed. Staff are working to refer individuals who remain onsite to alternate spaces in the shelter system. For information on drop-in programs located across the city, 24-hour respite sites and other services to help those experiencing homelessness,

I want to rewrite this. “Based on science and with an abundance of care, two Warming Centres…..”
Out of an abundance of caution, two Warming Centres will open today at 5 p.m. Walk-ins welcome. 📍 81 Elizabeth St. 📍 885 Scarborough Golf Club Rd. ➡️ Find locations using the map at https://t.co/tRpue1Palo ➡️ Daytime drop-in programs are also available across Toronto.
