Despite promising to expand public transit funding in the last election, @MarkJCarney and his government decided to quietly cut funding, leading cities further towards a transit death spiral. From me and @ttcriders in the National Observer: https://t.co/awuGVX8Wok

If the federal government truly believes in building communities that work for everyone, it needs to stop treating transit as secondary and start treating it as what it is: vital national infrastru...

Its been wild seeing the amount of fake clips being shared online of the situation in Venezuela either AI or being shared out of context from years ago of ppl "celebrating" the bombing of their country. Below is actual news coverage. We live in a time of massive disinformation.

The US has attacked a country, kidnapped its head of state, and is seizing its oil. Trump has invoked the Monroe Doctrine. This is a moment for Canada to stand up: condemn this act of imperialism. Reject impunity and the politics of brute force.  State clearly that we will not

We have a Liberal Party who refuses to condemn Trump and a Conservative Party that actively cheers on his lawlessness. This is the corporate party consensus.

Congratulations to President Trump on successfully arresting narco-terrorist and socialist dictator Nicolas Maduro, who should live out his days in prison. The legitimate winner of the most recent Venezuelan elections, Edmundo GonzĂĄlez, should take office along with the

Canadian #ICC Judge Prost has spoken about the emotional & practical toll of US sanctions against her. Ottawa won't condemn these sanctions. The reason, I've had confirmed, is bc it is afraid of US anger at calling sanctions out. A sad state of affairs.

Everyone should be mortified by this response. Whatever you think of Maduro it is pretty clear that the US violated international law and we are just going along with it though i suppose that's consistent with our recent actions.

Canada's truly shocking response to the US launching an illegal war on Venezuela and abducting President Maduro: we condemn Maduro and call on all parties to "respect international law". Refuses to even name Trump's attacks much less condemn them. Horrific and deeply embarassing.

We can't even condemn the illegal bombing of a foreign nation and kidnapping of the head of state. What an absolute joke. The US is a rogue state. Elbows up.

I'm glad there is at least one Canadian political party with the moral fortitude to condemn Trump's reckless warfare. Still nothing from Carney or Anand after 6 hours - will they condemn it or is Carney too afraid to get on his buddy's bad side?

If true, this is a flagrant breach of international law and the rules-based system the US claims to support. Canada must strongly condemn it and call for the immediate cessation of aggression by the US against the sovereign state of Venezuela.

There is a push to characterise Starmer as 'decent' but not good at politics. I encountered him in person at a compositing meeting at the 2019 Labour conference and found him conniving, two-faced and lacking convictions. And bad at politics.

My man - a good start for Mamdani. Hope this is the beginning of the end of the IHRA definition here in Canada too - a definition that is constantly weaponized to criminalize any speech opposing Israeli government policies.

In March of this past year, it was revealed that both the United States and Israel reached out to Sudan, Somalia and Somaliland to discuss the relocation of Palestinians from Gaza to their land. Here’s what Somaliland’s foreign minister had to say:

Indigo is not some small Jewish-owned mom and pop shop, its a multimillion dollar corporation, whose CEO actively and materially supports IDF soldiers. Protesting Indigo is not antisemitism and comparing it to Kristalnacht belittles the real harm those Jews actually faced.

To equate Palestine solidarity marches and people opposing genocide to the "Ku Klux Klan" is truly Orwellian, racist and does a great disservice to the actual real threat of rising antisemitism and belittles the history of anti-Black racism. What a ridiculous op-ed.
