The rapturous reception
@VP
received at essence fest corrected the false narrative that she is unpopular among the base of the party.
Bracing myself for the hit pieces that are sure to come like they always do when nice things happen to her.
In the last few weeks the Vice President has appeared at Essence, NEA, AKA Boulee and now the NAACP.
Huge crowds, huge cheers, standing ovations at these high profile events.
And they want the narrative to be that she isn’t popular or isn’t a good orator.
I have 0 student loans and while I think it ridiculous, I would not be against all of that debt being wiped out.
HOWEVER, what is Insulting as a black and queer man is that folks are willing to let our rights die for LOANS?????????
Like let me see y’alls priorities.
The vitriol lobbed at Barack Obama and Kamala Harris for being black and reaching the pinnacle of power is something.
The way these two black folks are supposed to fix 400 years or inequities on their first day. They way they are held responsible for this system… 1/
Look who is front and center for
@TIME
year in review. The one and only
@VP
Kamala Harris. They know who the star is.
Honorable mentions to
@POTUS
and the Duke and Duchess of Sussex
Unpopular opinion but if you do better in front of a Fox News audience than in a room full of blacks people, you are perhaps not the best messenger of the Democratic Party.
.
@VP
Kamala Harris spent the final stretch of the midterms campaigning for rep Karen Bass who is now Mayor-Elect of Los Angeles.
Grateful for how she supports and uplifts other black women candidates.
While in Paris,
@SecondGentleman
is meeting with the families of staff from the American Embassy to hear about their experiences and thank them for their service.
Black folks supposed to speak up whenever other groups face injustice but when AP black history gets removed crickets from the other groups.
Predictably sad. Not gon stop me from speaking up about other injustices… but I see it.
The president will be fine he has the best medical care.
Please use this occasion to let people know that if they are getting a test at a pharmacy and it’s positive.
The pharmacist can prescribe paxlovid right there. No need to wait for a doctor.
Folks don’t know this.
BREAKING: President Biden tested positive for COVID-19, underscoring the persistence of the highly contagious virus. White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre said that Biden was experiencing “mild symptoms" and has begun taking Paxlovid.
the khive needs to wake up. there is an insidious coordinate effort to smear the vp and convolute the narrative of her historic and successful (so far) vice presidency.
They think they are hurting her, but all they have done is to amplify to the world pthe kindness of Vice President Harris’ heart.
Proud to be a supporter of 10 years, this is who she is.
@IWriteAllDay_
Screaming at this biology when she is the CHILD of a goddess.
Lololololol. Zeus was out here having children looking like a swan and regular biology is the hill they dying on?????
They should make Athena Asian with a black daughter just for fun and it would still make sense.
@SussexHenryVIII
Say that. wheww. The fact that the only black blood royals will be stripped of their birthright tells you everything you need to know.
Thank you
@VP
I know folks won’t credit her. But she is the last in the room and the plan included her 20k forgiveness for Pell Grants.
We stan a doer not a talker.
Kamala Devi Harris, a black woman, shattered the glass ceiling. Black women did that, and some can stomach it, it’s why they try to diminish minimize or erase her.
Still, Kamala Devi Harris, THE Vice President of the United States, rises.
Not Roxanne Gay’s father being exposed as getting rich on the back of Haitians. Especially on the aid that is being sent there, lolololol.
All the folks that came for KDH keep getting exposed.
During an extended walkabout alongside the Prince and Princess of Wales, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex shared sympathetic words with some of the many people gathered at Windsor Castle to pay their respects.
The utter joy right now of being a
@malcolmkenyatta
supporter.
The way he is shining so bright in this last stretch of the campaign.
The way his talents, advocacy and ethics are being magnified.
A working class senator for working families.
It truly irks me to see BO and KH made the culprit of a yt supremacist system that existed before them and that they are trying to fix. While yt politicians skate by. FIN/
Not the yt politicians that hamper them, not the institutions of power and money that they are trying to change.
It reeks of self hatred from black folks who do it and anti blackness and yt supremacy from the yt ‘progressives’ who do it. 2/
Republicans are horrendous. But a special place in hell for Krysten Sinema and Joe Manchin who could basically protect every American woman by breaking the filibuster.
Same special place to Murkowski and Susan Collins.
So yes activists should keep the pressure on black politicians but to drag them like they do Barack Obama and Kamala Harris??? Especially when you are black? DISGUSTING.5/
You will never be Vice President, President or even a cabinet member, you are destined to be forgotten in history like the many nameless senators before and after you. Unlike VP Harris whose name is already etched in history of his nation.
Liz, your jealousy is showing.
@ReecieColbert
@breathingnblack
@SymoneDSanders
She went to Munich to warn Zelensky of the invasion. It’s literally the highest level of diplomacy possible.
She held a meeting with Xi Jinping of China to tell him the US was not pleased with the action of his country.
A VP can literally not do more Yet the narrative remains
@PostOpinions
@KarenAttiah
An incoherent piece held together by one thing, Karen’s hatred of the VP.
Whew, for someone who is usually so precise and coherent this muddled piece was written for one and one reason only. Drag the VP and not even substantially mind you.
Nasty work and so very embarrassing
I love love how even some KDH supporters came at us when we dragged Gavin Newsom through the mud for allowing the US Senate to have 0 black women by appointing Padilla. And look at the VP getting blamed for it today. Whew….
Joe Biden won the working class in 2020, Hillary Clinton won the working class in 2016.
What Bernard means here is the yt working class, which he prioritizes to the detriment of the bipoc working class. He just won't say it. 1/
.
@SenSanders
tells
@jrpsaki
that Democrats "are underestimating Trump" and his appeal to the working class.
"For too many years, the Democratic leadership has turned its back on working people...It's time we stood up for working people."
Further more folks have to stop placing activist expectation on every black politician. Politicians are literally the opposite of activism, since they embody the power structures activists work to change. 4/
If black folks never enter those places of power on principles that they are yt supremacist and capitalist, then they will be 100% yt. How is that gonna help us as black people. 3/
@JuddLegum
@soledadobrien
Yt privilege in a tweet. Do you think we don't know that. But to say that a black woman being scotus for the first time is not something to be excited about is truly yt man drunk on priviledge stuff.
The republicans voted for over 40 years and they got the Voting Rights Act and Roe v Wade gutted.
FORTY YEARS OF VOTING STRAIGHT GOP.
Folks vote dems 2 years ago and expect everything fixed. I cannot
Kamala Devi Harris is the future of the Democratic Party, like it or not.
Black voters have said so, and being the BASE of the party, they will always be right.
#KHive
I am proud of us. The media refused to cover the VP’s trip to Africa and we did it ourself with absolute joy.
I love that for us. Thank you everyone 💛💛💛
Honestly, it seems like some people were more mad about Will Smith slapping Chris Rock than they were about 10 Black people being murdered in Buffalo. Are we THAT desensitized to hate crimes? To mass shootings? To white supremacy? So much so, that a SLAP warrants more outrage?
Ron Desantis and his campaign are melting down because of on
@VP
speech where she didn’t even mention them.
Her power. So glad that she is at the White House at this critical time.
Every once in a while I will think about the foreign policy conversation between
@StarJonesEsq
and
@blackwomenviews
while they were discussing the VP foreign policy experience. And marvel at how rare it is to see just black women talk foreign policy. The press fails us always.
A black women came forward to talk about how a system doesn’t support them or help them move forward (yt supremacy)
And folks decided to blame another black women not the yt studio heads!
@blackwomenviews
I knew you was gonna have the right word for this. But AG James has dissolved the Tr*mp foundation, ran the NRA out of New York and got them broke. Sued the NYPD for discrimination. She is ready, folks will just look and find reasons to not support a black woman.
