@jeff_marsh @cityofcalgary @yycplan @JyotiGondek 's frustrations about being disregarded & disrespected by the province are the EXACT same frustrations repeatedly expressed by communities to the city re:inappropriate & unwanted development. We want collaboration & evidence-based decision making too! #yyccc #yycplan

@AlexM_UT We need to continue to develop the age-tech sector in Canada. Robotics, sensors & machine learning can play a significant role to improve the quality of life of older adults who need suppport. @ORCAhomes #TWC2021 @AGEWELL_NCE @DementiaCalgary @CanadaDementia

Couldnt agree more with @NathanStall that staffing is an issue that we need to focus on and that we need to turn LTC into a place where people want to come to work. @ORCAhomes @CanadaDementia @DementiaCalgary #TWC2021

@XiMeNaKa On the other hand there are subscribers like me who think you provide a balanced approach to complex issues. I don’t always agree with your position but appreciate your curiosity & willingness to consider other perspectives. #yyc

Let's find a way to improve housing affordability without disrupting established communities. Blanket rezoning is not the solution. It will do nothing to help people who need non-market/below-market housing and has negative consequences for existing residents. #yyccc

There has been a lot of commentary during this Public Hearing that this has nothing to do with affordability. It is data like this that require this proposal to be taken seriously despite the many issues that are being raised around the process and politics of the moment.

My father was non-verbal for many years but he communicated with facial expressions and hand squeezing. It was subtle and nuanced but we could understand him.

UNINTENDED CONSEQUENCES: Will blanket rezoning result in increased home insurance costs or even difficultly getting coverage? California homes located in “areas of significant concentration” are no longer eligible with some insurance providers. 1/2 #yyccc

@CoalitionAB @CMOH_Alberta It's well beyond a reasonable time to allow designated family members to have access. The risk of COVID19 is being eclipsed by mental health concerns for both residents and family members. This is not protection, this is incarceration. #NotJustAVisitor

Excellent article that challenges Canada's continuing care system. @picardonhealth : "Who, going forward, will not think twice about placing a loved one in long-term care? Who will not ask: How can we keep Mom or Dad safe at home? @DementiaCalgary @CanadaDementia

"Canada has one of the highest rates of institutional care and one of the lowest rates of home care among developing countries, so our high death rate is not a surprise. A flawed system again delivered poor results" @picardonhealth /via @globeandmail
