There's a role for everyone in tackling racism, at all levels, but I want to highlight some opportunities within some of the systems and institutions in our Black girls' lives. A few ideas on how we can contribute to change from within 👇🏾 1/10

Heartbreaking. "...desperate families are fleeced by ruthless doctors. ...you might need to sell your land.. use up every last rupee for treatment.... Just the deposit alone, before they ...admit you, could set your family back a couple of generations." https://t.co/PMQUPVotme

The long read: It’s hard to convey the full depth and range of the trauma, the chaos and the indignity that people are being subjected to. Meanwhile, Modi and his allies are telling us not to complain

#DarnellaFrazier A brave woman who must not be forgotten. That a video had to be made That a 17 year old had to grow That a man had to die That uprisings had to occur That we couldn't even be sure that what we saw was enough #derekchauvinisguilty #BreonnaTaylor #GeorgeFloyd

Almost everyone I know. Every black and brown person I know was on edge waiting for this verdict. 😓 This is going to be controversial but I will say it. The measure of allyship is knowing this and to be crying with us this night. #derekchauvinisguilty #GeorgeFloyd

And know the racism that they already experience, process and ask me about is a reality that I will somehow use to grow them stronger and use this moment to teach them the value of integrity. Sleep well all. We have more battles to fight

It isn't only ethnic minorities who should be angry at this it is also the white working class, who continue to be sold division as a political advantage and it is a smoke screen from a government that is not doing anything to really benefit the white working class anyway.

The division of ethnic minority working class from white working classes has historical precedent that dates back over 100 years on both sides of the pond and as yet as far as I can tell it has benefited noone but the elites who are the originators of the division.

What saddens me about #RacismReport is that people like Tony Sewell have taken their achievement and used it to draw up the bridge behind them, not only for other ethnic minorities but also for the white working class that they are happy to be used to divide and conquer over.

Just because I have achieved don't underestimate what I walked through to get here. The fact of a black British African female Orthopaedic Surgeon doesn't prove their is no institutional racism.

At 12pm today our staff held a minute's silence to mark #nationaldayofreflection - a special day to mark the first anniversary of the UK lockdown and to remember all those who tragically lost their life as a result of the pandemic.

I heard a father telling his daughter she wouldn't get her chocolate if she kept misbehaving. I felt odly reassured that bribery and corruption is still well alive in parenting #mummy #mother #parenting
