We compared 10 p-tau blood assays in our latest paper in @Brain1878! P-tau217 is consistently better than p-tau181, mass-spect (MS) assays are better than best immunoassays, with MS p-tau217 reaching very high accuracy (AUC<0.93)! https://t.co/tfc4lJxZKw

Our most important clinical paper so far. In the @prevent_ad, 60% of our cognitively unimpaired participants with amyoid and tau PET binding developed MCI in ~2 years, a number that increased to 80% in those with hippocampal atrophy. The findings are replicated in 3 cohorts.

I am very pleased to (finally!!) share this paper co-authored with @andrealessa @pedrorosaneto in @eBioMedicine More evidence that #pTau231 changes very in #AD continuum – associated with subtle regional #Aβ deposition. #pTau217 shows ⬆️ fold-changes in symptomatic disease.

Plasma #GFAP detects #amyloid burden, independent of #Tau, differently to CSF GFAP and does it very early! A really fun and important collaboration! @andrealessa @Marta_Mila_ @VrillonAgathe @pedrorosaneto @M_SuarezCalvet @Imaging_AD @goteborgsuni @fpmaragall
It’s out!! Our study shows, with 3 cohorts, that plasma 🩸 GFAP indicates brain 🧠 amyloidosis, and it’s elevated already in preclinical AD. A great team work with @Marta_Mila_ @VrillonAgathe @NicholasAshton @pedrorosaneto @M_SuarezCalvet

👇Our latest work on synaptic biomarkers in #preclinical #Alzheimer, showing they increase in the earliest stages and differently associate with risk factors and neurodegeneration Thanks to @M_SuarezCalvet and all coauthors from @uniofgothenburg and @fpmaragall !!

The BioFINDER team is proud to present the first large head-to-head study comparing different plasma Aβ assays. The study found that certain IP-MS methods clearly outperforms most other assays and should preferably be used in future studies and trials. https://t.co/F0J2AhIrYT

This cross-sectional study compares the performance of plasma amyloid-β 42/40 (Aβ42/40) measured using 8 different Aβ assays and methods in detecting abnormal brain Aβ status in patients with early...

It is hard to summarise the different technologies, advances and results in the explosion of #blood #biomarkers for #Alzheimers – but this does a pretty good job of doing so! Congratulations to @joycejoy22 et al, it was fun to work with you on this! https://t.co/oKF4fhB3tR

Congratulations on emphasising the close links between brain health and heart health
In this study @AgingMacc @HilalSaima we showed the association of blood-based cardiac biomarkers (NT-proBNP, hs-cTnT, and GDF-15) with cognitive decline, incident cerebrovascular disease, vascular events and mortality over the follow-up of 3 years in a memory clinic population.
