1/2 Today is my graduation day. For obvious reasons the ceremony is virtual, which is a bit frustrating. But I’m happy I’m officially a PhD. It was not easy as everyone knows, but it’s pleasant when you work with amazing people. Thank you @pedrorosaneto for being a great mentor,

🚨Just published in @NatureNeuro🚨 Led by @jpfsouza33, this study used imaging & fluid biomarkers to reveal that microglia modulate Aβ-related astrocyte reactivity, which in turn contributes to Alzheimer’s disease progression. 🔗

In our new paper, we show that neuroinflammation in Alzheimer’s follows a two-wave pattern of harmful effects: 1️⃣ First wave: triggered by amyloid-β (Aβ) 2️⃣ Second wave: driven by widespread tau pathology 📄

Do p-tau217 levels rise without amyloid or tau aggregates? 🐻 In our Acta Neuropathologica paper, we show that 🩸 p-tau217 increases ~300% during bear hibernation, while hibernating hamsters also show ⬆️ p-tau but no changes in MTBR tau. https://t.co/8QgRj9hfR9

New paper published today in @NatureAging! This one took some time but it's always a pleasure working hand in hand with @MontoliuGaya and the Gothenburg team. Thanks also to the McGill group for also collaborating with TRIAD data. A 🧵 below. #ENDALZ

New paper out! We explored immune-related proteins in CSF and plasma in Alzheimer's disease, linking TSPO PET to neuroinflammation. Highlights: CXCL1 and TNFRSF11B in CSF show strong links to TSPO and AD pathways. Check it out!
