Green MSP Maggie Chapman has said Holyrood should "explore" whether 8yo children can decide to legally change sex, and criticised school text books on biology. Maggie does not speak for me, or the vast majority of north east Scots she purports to serve.

SNP MSPs could be disciplined if they fail to back govt gender plans tomorrow. Shocking. MSPs are being asked to allow children to legally change sex, whilst removing expert medical oversight from the process. That's profoundly unconscionable to many.

With major institutions distancing themselves from Stonewall, Scot Gov's relationship with the group is untenable. Ministers should exit Stonewall's paid scheme and reconsider policy decisions made at their behest, such as this egregious schools' guidance.

Further to this, Forbes wouldn’t seek to “impose” her beliefs on anyone as FM. Even if she wanted to she couldn’t - we live in a democracy. A First Minister’s decisions are bound by cabinet and Parliament. Those claiming otherwise are dishonest. Deliberately so, I’d venture.

I think many Scots would prefer Forbes - a democrat, committed to the Christian values of love, integrity, and service - to the amoral scolds who have held Scotland's government hostage in recent years. The media should focus on Forbes' policy platform, not her faith.

Thought-provoking comment on the unenforced Hate Crime Act 2021, and reasons for the delay. "Criminal law must have certainty and the hate law fails that test", writes Mark Smith in The Herald.

The Online Safety bill will cover content "likely" to cause "psychological harm". This definition has more holes in it than a Swiss cheese. It poses a huge threat to free expression. Why, given the hate crime saga in Scotland, have Ministers accepted it?

Alarmingly, they didn’t receive a clear answer from their health board, or NHS Scotland.

'Assisted dying' legislation is due to be lodged at Holyrood this week. If the law changes, Scots will opt for a state-assisted death because they lack the support necessary to live. Safeguards will fail. And there will be pressure to expand. I'd urge MSPs to say no.

Did you know that in the last year more Christians were killed for their faith in Nigeria than anywhere else in the world combined? In 2021, at least 6,000 Christians died for their faith, and 80% of those were Nigerians. An unending slaughter, largely unreported in The West.

"We are rapidly losing our grip on freedom of speech. We no longer value it. What we crave, instead of the robustness of debate, is the cosiness of an all-inclusive conformity, where no-one is challenged". A lot of truth in this piece by @ProfTomkins

Pleased to say I've joined the Scottish Advisory Council of @SpeechUnion which launches its Scottish chapter today. Free speech is an essential liberty, and an embattled one. We need to defend it for the good of all people.

My heart breaks for this poor wee girl, and other children like her. These truly are dark days for Scotland.

Shocking from @BBCRadioScot . Interviewee seems determined to medically stop his 10-year-old daughter’s puberty after deciding she was a boy before she could even talk. The BBC has policies around raising safeguarding alerts. We hope they are being followed. Clips below.

The GPs who penned this article asked official bodies if declining to refer a child to a gender clinic would see them deemed “transphobic”, and whether gender critical views are permissible in Scotland’s medical profession.

This issue is deeply concerning to parents and many others in Scotland, as well as those within the medical profession. It needs to be addressed as a matter of priority.

Medics should also be allowed to act in line with their consciences. Gender critical views are protected in law. There’s a strong argument for allowing doctors to opt out of controversial interventions pertaining to gender dysphoria.

@Transgendertrd You may be interested to read this article I wrote in August, on the same theme. 'Men, women, and children will continue to be harmed for as long as the powerful in Scotland shirk their responsibility to ask honest questions, and address injustice.'
