Expanding services is reckless while there's an acknowledged lack of evidence about the best care for children with gender related distress. These children should be treated within existing mental health services not hived off into 'gender' clinics.

3,000 children are expected to be enrolled in the study to collect data. The researchers say "Ultimately, our goal is to help in shaping the future services to help children, improve child health, support families and also clinicians working with services in the UK".

Nothing makes it clearer that so-called 'gender healthcare' has been an unregulated free-for-all. After years of affirmative experimentation, including puberty blockers, the NHS is only now collecting data on the benefits and harms of different treatments.
