The data linkage study: we ask Would the Cass Review have gone ahead with the recommendation for a puberty blockers trial if the data linkage study had revealed poor outcomes? And why is this previously 'vital evidence' suddenly not important? https://t.co/mT6JuArjrs

The data linkage study is crucial long-term evidence we need before we begin more children on a medical pathway. What has happened to it?

This says it all. The medical harms of stopping a child's puberty are obvious, we just don't know all of them yet. On the other hand, there's very weak evidence for any benefits and no clinical rationale for doing it. In what world is this ethical? #StopTheTrial

A former member of the trial told me, “the early planning meetings were unlike any other clinical trial I’ve encountered. We could easily list all the potential harms to monitor and how to test for them, but we didn’t have a clear rationale for giving the drug in the first place”

'Listening to the experts' still effectively means listening to one side only. Wes Streeting must know that those who have grave concerns about the puberty blockers trial are still silenced by the risk of consequences. He must take seriously those who do take the risk 👇

It looks like rolling recruitment with no endpoint. After two years children can continue on blockers and then cross-sex hormones, outside trial conditions. The trial is just the entry conditions onto the medical Transition Pathway. #stopthepbtrial #StopTheTrial

"These children have always existed"? Historically, before 'affirmation' & blockers, a small % of a tiny number became gay transsexuals as adults. In single digits, per yearly referrals. 226 is already vastly exceeding the number of "these children." https://t.co/pmHOvOEPdL

Bridget Phillipson calls the @EHRC interim guide “trans exclusive.” As Secretary of State for Education she also has responsibility for the Gender Questioning Children schools guidance. Where is it? And what hope can we have that it will protect girls? https://t.co/ZoXYiLAqty

Your RSHE guidance recommends Stonewall resources, teaching boys that girls' privacy & boundaries are optional, putting girls at risk in schools. You refuse to publish @EHRC code so girls are put at risk in public facilities. Safeguarding girls means prevention, not helplines.

The Levy review found that the growing younger cohort of patients had a higher proportion of ASD, mental health conditions, trauma or childhood abuse compared with past cohort. But we don't know the outcomes and can't judge the safety of the treatment. https://t.co/9zRRtB9KY7

The adult clinics are an ideological experiment on vulnerable young people. NHS seems to have forgotten the Cass Recommendation for a bridging service for 17 -25 yr-olds. Instead they'll increase the number of clinics and get GPs to prescribe hormones. https://t.co/gc74p4SPvP

@Hilary_Cass, you’ve made an important contribution. But diagnosis in children is one of psychiatry’s most over-valued ideas, with limited prognostic value something the field has long recognised, and something anyone with sustained experience of working with adolescents knows.

There's no way to predict which children will have 'long standing gender incongruence' and blockers may work to create that persistence - this was all in the Cass Review. Children getting a dangerous drug elsewhere is extraordinary justification for offering it on the NHS.

The generation fully indoctrinated in schools, progressed through the Tavistock, arrived at the adult clinics. Only 31.5% are discharged having completed their treatment. What's happened to them? There's no outcomes data. A scandal on a par with the GIDS. A generation failed.
