Bias and inaccuracy on sex and gender at the BBC are visible and provable. But we aren’t asking for sackings, but for published outcomes to change. It doesn’t matter if people with trans beliefs work for the BBC. Just stop bringing them to the desk. They aren’t true. //

Horrifyingly, it’s First Day, from 2020, which the BBC should be ashamed of, and completely disavowing. ‘The Australian series follows a 12-year-old trans girl, as she begins her first year of middle school while navigating challenges and trying to live as her authentic self’./

Actually great to see that the BBC were first with this with a very fair report. It’s turned national and been piled on since.

‘Linden Kemkaran, Reform’s leader of Kent county council, hailed the decision as a victory for common sense. ‘It’s unknown how many books are to be removed or how the council will classify transgender-related books’. @Telegraph

BBC Kent really tried on this one. More support is needed higher up. Rhodri Talfan Davies has work to do.

This was a fair story, reported with balance. Then activists piled in, a second senior journalist was pulled on to the story, and everything changed. No wonder BBC regions are captured. They’re at the mercy of virulent complaints activism and struggle to stand up to it.

Armed Forces and Veterans Day cancelled for costs while ‘inclusive’ carnival to go ahead because it’s funded by the Arts Council - same town. Mansfield residents are cross. Some are even being ‘divisive’ about it, heaven forfend. @ArtsPro.

Mansfield Council has called for an end to ‘divisive’ comments directed toward the town’s carnival, after a separate veterans event was cancelled, in part due to costs.

It’s not enough to report that both sides need to be platformed on whether more caution is needed in child transition. The structure of thinking which frames everything around the belief that gender identity is real needs to be dismantled. But think of a journalist now in ./
