I should be clear though, I don't think kids should have smartphones at all, not just in school/class. And also I don't think adults should have them.

You know these people are all bad faith and have no knowledge of these laws, because absolutely zero people are arguing kids should watch endless IG Reels in class. But this comment reveals the core issue they actually have with phones: the content on them. Just admit that!.

The very existence of "phones in school" discourse can distract us from the insanity of the idea of the first place. There's a frog-boiling effect but imagine in 2007 if you were like "btw I think kids should be able to watch infinite amounts of 10second videos all through class".
