Just finished the book Fossil Future by

We are constantly lambasted by main stream news outlets about the negatives of fossil fuels, but what about the positives?

When I think about climate change, I think about jobs.
It's time wind turbine blades, solar panels, and electric vehicle batteries were built by American union workers in American towns instead of overseas.

Let’s clear something up,
#Bitcoin
is completely separate from “crypto”.
99.99% of “crypto” are unregistered securities. This means high-risk, no investor protection.
#Bitcoin
is decentralized and is considered property by the IRS. No person/company controls it.

The apparent stabilisation of bitcoin’s value is likely to be an artificially induced last gasp before the crypto-asset embarks on a road to irrelevance.

Absolute masterclass podcast episode from a little over 2 years ago from

So prescient and accurate in the analysis of

Just climbed into my top 5 bitcoin pods of all time:
PSA: “Crypto” is run by a small group of individuals/VC firms with no repercussions for taking your money and running off with it.
#Bitcoin
is decentralized, scarce, digital property that no one can change without consensus among participants in the network.
Systemic risk: risk of a collapse of an entire financial system or market, as opposed to one entity.
If all of your assets are US financial market-based, you need to hedge your position.
#Bitcoin
is a hedge against all financial systems.

How about instead of taxing corporations, citizens pay 0% tax as well?
Then politicians might have to get a real job instead of getting citizens to hate each other.

Can you find me a govt that doesn’t violate human rights?
The assumption is that El Salvador is one of a few countries that *has* violated human rights, but the reality is off by orders of magnitude compared to western “Democratic” countries exporting human rights violations.

Bitcoin miners are private companies that search for the cheapest energy sources to consume mostly curtailed(wasted) energy.
So they are energy buyers of last resort.
This leads to a buildout of renewables because they can now be profitable without grid infrastructure.
#DYOR

@FrankElderson
: Crypto-assets such as
#bitcoin
have an enormous ecological footprint. Their estimated energy consumption is comparable to that of some countries. Authorities across the world need to see how this affects their sustainable finance roadmaps and take action
#AskECB
There is very little downward pressure on bitcoin’s fiat price over time.
Ask yourself what downward pressure is affecting your other assets and you soon realize… there is no second best!
My friend thinks it's crazy to have a massive
#bitcoin
position.
But bitcoin is the least uncertain asset known to man. No entity can alter its immutable supply distribution schedule that cuts in half every 4 years.
It's crazy to hold significant wealth outside of bitcoin.
This is just tone deaf. Europe is in economic distress and she gets an award for this?? And is highlighting getting an award for how good of a job she is doing 😅
Personally, I’m just sitting back, in awe, of this clown show we call central banking.
I was humbled to be awarded an honorary degree by the London School of Economics earlier this week.
Thank you so much for this prestigious honour!
Receiving the degree from my former colleague and current

Director Minouche Shafik made the moment even more special.
This was an interesting discussion.
@ShellenbergerMD
fails to realize the subjective and technical value in
#Bitcoin
.
But I am happy he is asking questions.
The more someone asks questions about bitcoin, the faster they realize what they are dealing with here.
I sat down with
@ShellenbergerMD
to discuss bitcoin.
He sees no value in the asset and I obviously disagree.
This conversation was entertaining, informative, and great example of people willing to learn from each other.

If main stream news sources “forget” to tell us about the positives, how credible are they?
News sources should let the data and science speak for itself.
If they don’t, they are programming you to think how they want you to think.

At this point in time, most people have heard of bitcoin and I just ask a simple question: Why is bitcoin not dead yet?
That was what I asked myself and it ultimately sent me down the rabbit hole.
The Court, 3 on 3 tourney on an 8’5” hoop will be held Sunday, August 11th starting at 10am. We will be doing a draft once we have everyone signed up on Saturday the 10th with the captains. DM me if interested and I will give you more details.

#Bitcoin
happens to solve both at the same time.
Bitcoin is for savings.
Savings that can be passed down from generation to generation.
If we can spend it easily for coffee, great, but it already has the most important use-case taken care of; storage of wealth over time and space.

Because networks scale with increasing complexity, they don’t start with it.
Eth started as a highly complex network and has gradually become more complex. This makes scaling/planning in the future much more difficult.
Btc is the opposite.

I think about this all the time, and I think it comes down to more pain in the legacy markets.
As long as people have a “safety net” for their retirement through the stock market,
#Bitcoin
won’t be of value to a majority of people.
America was built by individuals who were pro-freedom.
They made government in such a way that citizens could keep them in check by voting.
The
#Bitcoin
network keeps governments in check by empowering individuals with non-confiscate-able wealth.
Owning bitcoin IS the vote.
This is one of the most informational threads on how to change the system. I strongly encourage taking the time to read through it and using that as a basis of who to vote for or what to demand of your elected officials in govt. I know I will.
