My entry for the @SIVATrainees #SIVA24 infographic competition. Is there one model to rule them all? Well tbh I think it doesn't matter all that much, as long as you know your model well! You can find a more detailed explanation on my website: https://t.co/4xLAhFkY2D

@BBCHughPym That’s not quite accurate. July - walkout over pay. Oct - I was elected. Nov - walkout over jobs and pay. Dec - walkout over jobs and pay. Jobs are very much a big part of this!

A fucking fish tank! This. This is exactly what happens when you are a GP and the clipboards want to power trip. Meanwhile when babies are dying in hospital, people off the street are examining children with safeguarding concerns? Nowt. And Alpacas can visit hospitals!

Is anyone else taking part in the @CareQualityComm engagement webinar today? This was my question to @BolaOwolabi8. The chair advised that specific concerns should be raised via the CQC's contact centre. But we made a formal complaint on 22nd Oct and haven't had a response yet...

@Imagoogami @CareQualityComm @BolaOwolabi8 This isn't a spoof. Our draft report criticised us for not having a written risk assessment for our fish tank. The final report hasn't been published yet. We have submitted a factual accuracy check in which we pointed out that this was disproportionate, so we'll see...

I'm sympathetic to this concern, but we have to understand that strikes aren't about punishing our colleagues. In fact govt gaslighting is trying to rely on us attacking each other to compromise the effectiveness of strikes. What else is there but strikes against intransigence?

After our last round of strike action, we gave @wesstreeting a window to deliver sufficient progress towards a viable deal on jobs and pay. That hasn’t happened. We’ve been given no choice but to return to the picket lines. #EndTrainingCrisis #PayRestoration

Good to speak at @BAPIOUK on IMGs - appreciate the invitation from @indranilc We must support resident and locally employed doctors - especially against racism and xenophobia @gmcuk are reducing PLAB slots by 50% but underlying issues of too few training posts and too few GPs

@TheSnoozeDoctor In the event of a complication from anaesthesia causing severe brain damage or death, which is entirely possible in any high-risk scenario like this, will he be held to the same standards as an anaesthetist? How is this practice regulated?

@TheSnoozeDoctor Why is a non-medically trained individual undergoing the IAC, a specific period of training for doctor anaesthetists in the UK to be assessed on? Shame on the anaesthetic department, NHS Trust & @RCoANews for facilitating this deprofessionalising nonsense

It also seems crazy that PHEM has become a dedicated subspeciality you need to train in formally in order to take on such roles as a doctor, with very limited training places on the one hand & on the other we're apparently letting non-doctors do this unsupervised. Square that 🤷

People who are medically unqualified should NOT be doing it. No evidence exists that medically unqualified groups can see UDF pts safely. Yet the entire premise of ARRS is to facilitate this unsafe practice. Why does ARRS even exist?

@poly543211 @AlanStout19 I think we are. The latest news about contract negotiations is yet another knife. I don’t want to do this any more but I don’t want to abandon the NHS because I value it. This is, however, what they’re exploiting. All I want is to provide good care for patients. Everything and

Pretty much agree with this as a Dr of 25 years. Medicine is an incredible career, but not in the UK. I have advised both my children and anyone else who is considering Medicine- to only do it if they are prepared to work abroad where it can be one of the best career choices

It saddens me greatly to echo this As a doctor of 18 years I would not recommend medicine as a career for A-level students Leave uni with £100K debt, competitive entry, rigorous exams, significant sacrifices ….for ⬆️% unemployment & replaced by those without a medical degree

This week, thousands of resident doctors have been turned away from NHS jobs – as we warned the Government they would be. We are calling on NHS England to urgently address this situation. The specialty recruitment process is not fit for purpose & must be fixed once and for all.

@smarleyhome @Davewwest "you've caused" - you mean the unnecessary deaths caused by 15 years of successive political indifference packaged as "austerity". Decisions like 50% fewer beds in the entire NHS compared to 30 years ago. Or replacing Drs with unqualified PAs and ACPs.
