Midwife keeps suggesting a home birth would be a great idea for me. I’m an anaesthetist, have a HB of 108 and prev major PPH and live 1 hour from the hospital. Seems rather sporting!!

After back and forth with HR, they have decided they don’t know how to fix the multiple payslip issues and the only way to avoid pension/loan issues is to - checks notes- NOT pay me at all. Wonder why so many doctors are leaving.

To those who regularly do trauma lists. Remember that a 90+yr old has a family. Apparently my grandmother had surgery this morning, no one has called her family and still no call. I’ve seen this done so well in the trusts I work in, full MDT incl family it’s quite a shock.

It is under played how stressful moving hospitals so frequently is. With having to move, try and get vaguely paid right, figure out your new role. Can’t help but feel if it was much less often there would be a lot more opportunity to invest time into training

@hope_155 I think the main point is that it’s rude. There are far worse things than changing a laundry bag! But the point about efficiency is there. If you’re asked to do 20 jobs that someone else could do, but they can’t do your job, that’s twenty minutes a day that adds up over a year

@Dr_Done_ @ExplosiveEnema This is shocking behaviour, from someone who is supposed to be supporting the FY1. If PAs want to have the same role as a doctor, what is the point of the PA degree? They should have a specific role in supporting doctors and those who want to be doctors should go to med school.

@Dr_Done_ I think an important point amongst all this discussion is informed consent. Are patients aware of who is managing them or performing their procedure? Many will be confused by all these titles and it would be very difficult for them to understand the qualifications.
