I love this and relate so much growing up in rural Missouri. I think those who hate on pride do so because of the shame theyâre avoiding for how awful they were and are to people like us. Rather than making amends - they find reasons to continue to dehumanize us as justification.

In September of 2022 I spent a week in a behavioral hospital because after my divorce and about a million other horrible life things, I was absolutely lost and in complete darkness. Today, I graduated with another bachelors degree because I found that light back. Life is good â€ïž

A student from last semester asked me to lunch today. Heâs 18 and his first serious girlfriend of a year recently broke up with him. I gave him the pep talk I always wished I had gotten from a father figure in my life & it was the best feeling ever. Getting older has its perks.

Went to pick up 2 prescriptions today. I am doubly insured, both through my job (BCBS PPO) and my husbandâs job (HMO). Total for a 1-month supply was $1812.75. Neither insurance covered a dime, so I went without. Just letting you know it happens to MDs, too, and itâs shameful. 1/

I have the same anxiety and book in advance to secure an aisle seat. I was asked to move earlier in the year and I explained I had anxiety and needed the aisle. I was treated with such disregard. But, I held strong because I knew what was best for me. You gotta look after you.
