Folks, the Triangle is great for what it is but it let’s be real here. It’s the major metro traffic without the major metro amenities and culture.

This is bananas. Every day in North Carolina unearths an obscure procedural transgression by state officials against transparency and good governance. It’s amazing the lengths they will go to insulate themselves from accountability.
Something I found out recently is that the NC Legislative Library deletes audio from committee meetings at the end of each biennium because the written minutes are the official record.

I don’t think that home ownership is a financial “investment” aspiration for most people. A house provides various forms of stability and safety for your family across generations and it provides legal protections/benefits renters don’t have (eg storm relief funds, etc).

I moved here from DC awhile back actually. Traffic obviously is terrible. Trying to navigate 395 between the same hours was also hell.
The difference is DC is a much bigger better metro area that offers way, way more for residents and has public transportation.
