The pressure to maximize number of participants and focus on cash payouts at all levels would result in a lot of 'make work' projects. No doubt there are pressing needs for charities, but most can't be met by a sudden surge in short-term volunteers.

But health experts are suggesting that exercise outdoors is a good thing. We need to keep our distance. There are solutions other than shutting everything down - for example - opening streets to pedestrians to provide more options

They can park five feet to the left, the same way they would if there were concrete barriers protecting the bike lanes.

The response will probably be that police are authorized to use the lane. But even if they’re legally authorized doesn’t mean they should when there are alternatives, like parking in the car lane beside the bike lane.

Strange for them to point out the bike lanes are narrower on Yonge than on Bloor. Are they proposing widening them? 😛

Given the recent incidents of people being killed by falling trees in parks it’s good the city is taking this issue seriously. Hope they replant it with something nice.

Probably the same designer responsible for all the showers now with no glass or curtain between the shower and rest of bathroom, just an open gap. The kind where after every shower the floor around it is all wet. 😓

I lived at Yonge and st clair from 2009-2011 when I took this pic. Exciting to see the area evolve 🤩
Approximately 5,600 residential units are in development surrounding the Yonge and St Clair intersection, including towers up to 50 storeys.

Interesting how AirPods are supposedly so problematic and yet no one talks about the dangers of drivers listening to the radio (preventing them from hearing bike bells and shouting) or considers banning music in cars.
