After years of being ashamed of our balding lawn, this year we took action. With help from @fiestafarms garden centre, @bretttryon and I tore out the sods and replaced with native pollinators. Looks great, feels great and works great. Brett wrote about it

This buzzy campaign is supposed to help bees, but is it really such a good idea?

A powerful video on what we know we need to accomplish to address the impact of climate change for our kids and grandkids' sake. In 2064, I will be 86. Worth a watch. @DNV_Group

This year I will be participating in the @SecondHarvestCA Truck Pull Challenge. Second Harvest is Canada's largest food rescue organization that works to keep food where it belongs - on people's plates and out of landfills. Please donate if you're able.

Great to see this project move forward. No doubt a challenge for all involved to make it all work, but persistence paid off, and time to get shovels into the ground.
I was proud to join Vic Gupta, CEO of @_CreateTO ,Justin Van Dette, Senior Director, Government & Community Relations at @tridel, and @MayorOliviaChow at the groundbreaking for Toronto’s Housing Now development at 50 Wilson Heights Boulevard. This new mixed-use, transit-oriented

An admission of the significant financial and safety costs. The city regularly looks at alternative routes and puts lanes on side streets. Shaw (instead of Ossington), Palmerston (Bathurst), Brunswick (Spadina). Yonge, University and Bloor don't have equivalent options.
Among everything else that’s despicable about this, ITS A CLEAR ADMISSION THAT THEY KNOW THAT DOING THIS WILL OBVIOUSLY ENDANGER LIVES. People rode bikes on these streets before the bike-lanes (albeit fewer) & they will again after. The inevitable blood will be on Ford’s hands.

Mid-rise are some of the more challenging projects to advance for a number of reasons, yet there is also criticism when clusters of tall buildings are proposed. We need to make mid-rise easier and this report is a good blueprint. Best practices have, and should, evolve over time.
Why isn't #onpoli's housing supply keeping up with housing need?. New expert report commissioned by my @EnviroDefence team: . Ontario governments' restrictions on mid-rise apartment buildings have been making it impossible to end the housing shortage.🧵👇.

It's not too late for the province to change direction on this. We have gathered the necessary information - It's costly and a waste of $75M, the lanes are well used, and they save lives.
In summary, Ford's bike lane removals will, according to a new City Hall report:. - Cost $75 million in direct costs and sunk costs. - Make traffic much, much worse for at least nine months during construction to remove lanes.- Have minimal long-term impact on car travel times.

When we proposed the Bloor Bike lane pilot, we also proposed a rigorous third-party economic study. It was done and found a financial benefit to local businesses, on top of the significant safety improvements to ALL road users with minimal delays.
"All of the evidence we’re seeing tells a very compelling story – bike lanes are good for business, they improve safety for all road users, and reduce congestion." .Businesses on Bloor Street @BloorAnnexBIA , where @fordnation wants to eliminate bike lanes.
