FINAL COUNT: 26,771 doses. Toronto just set a world record for the most vaccine doses ever administered in a single clinic. Be proud, Toronto. This vaccination campaign is our moment. It’s a rally together moment. Let’s get our city vaccinated. #TorontoVaccineDay

A new waterfront city is coming into view, thanks to the transformational flood protection work in the Port Lands. With the removal of “north plug”, the new Don River can flow freely into Lake Ontario and a new island is born. This historic feat of engineering is made possible

Strong enough to join the fight, but wise enough to know when to leave it. There are many qualities to good leadership. Passing the baton is one of them.

During the COVID pandemic - arguably the most challenging and uncertain moment in Toronto’s history - Dr. de Villa led with remarkable integrity, courage, and compassion. Public service at its very best. E, sending you all the love in the world. Can’t wait to see what’s next.

Leaving George Brown College was not an easy decision. I want to thank the entire team at GBC. From the acquisition of the Corus building, to the creation of the Housing Task Force, to the launch of the 'City is Our Classroom' campaign...it was an exciting time at the College.

Some news. I’m thrilled to share that I have accepted a new job as Chief of Staff at Waterfront Toronto. Values driven, community-based, and in partnership with all three orders of government and the non-profit and private sectors – it's city building at its best. I can’t wait.

In recent decades the revitalization of Toronto’s waterfront has been a remarkable success story. The revitalization continues, and George Brown College will continue to be a big part of it. https://t.co/kQYEVxZOby

This has been a brutal week for our city. There’s a lot of sadness, hurt, and anger right now. There’s also an opportunity to build a better and more inclusive, compassionate city. On Monday I spoke with @metromorning about my thoughts on the road ahead. https://t.co/wUOoZZcIC4

When our city faced it’s most challenging and uncertain moment, Mayor Tory led with remarkable courage. I will never forget it. During the pandemic and vaccine campaign he was the mayor our city needed. He was also a good friend to me. Thank you for your service, Mayor @JohnTory

“Fight hard for what you believe, never mistake your opponents for enemies, and attempt to bring grace and respect into the ring every time”. Wise words (courtesy of Robin Sears) for anyone seeking political leadership in our city right now.

As we approach an uncertain but important moment for our city, remember that the job of city-building belongs to all of us. We all have a role to play in building an inclusive and great city. At 7:10am I’m joining @CBCIsmaila on @metromorning for a discussion of the road ahead.

Toronto is a spectacular city and we have the capacity to be even better. Building a great city is the task of all of us - in every sector, every workplace, every community, each and every day. For me that work continues, just not at City Hall. https://t.co/H5SUJBf35w

Last year I left politics to spend more time with my family. While recent events have changed the political landscape, they haven’t changed my desire to be a present dad. I couldn’t be the Mayor our city deserves while being the type of parent I want to be. My full statement:

Ausma Malik is principled, effective, and brave. Especially brave. Our city and downtown community is so very lucky to have her at City Hall. Congrats, @ausmalik. It’s an honour to pass the baton to you.

Mike Layton is the kindest and most decent man I know. He’s also strategic, tireless, and extremely effective. Above all else, he’s a generous friend to many and a deeply dedicated father. ⁦@m_layton⁩, our city owes you a huge debt for your service
