This is good. I’ve transitioned from saying “get on top” to “finish the pitch”
Different words, but the idea remains the same and doesn’t cause the athlete to feel like there is something wrong with their mechanics/arm path.
The default pitching advice for a lot of coaches is “get on top of the ball”.
Remember that just because it’s the default, doesn’t make it the best advice.

We had just given up the lead and were down 6-3 in the top of the 7th.
