Shipping Protocol::Improve UX @ethereumfndn — research in public
Joined October 2012
Pleased to share our "Improve UX" track update! TL;DR: High focus on interop. Build out and strengthen intent-based infrastructure, preparing the ground for fast and trust-minimised backends. Drive down costs and latency with a focus on faster and stronger settlement on L1 and

https://t.co/tmWw8UdpKt We care deeply about this technology being applicable to all. Financial Institutions store trillions of dollars worth of value on behalf of everyday people. It’s important that they adopt Ethereum on behalf of their customers. Thanks to all that have

Q: does this harm decentralization? A: no, all this does is make the "# of validators" more closely match "# of operators" for decentralization, what we care about is # of operators in a diversity of jurisdictions using diverse setups & different software and hardware tell
Baby steps, but worth celebrating: 0.5% of validators hold 10% of stake. The validator set shrunk by >85k from the peak, and is heading towards <1M. The goal: another 10x reduction, to unlock much faster finality. Call your staking pool and let them know Ethereum needs them 🫵

@Leo_Glisic Thanks for writing this up! > They end up being 'dumb pipes' that can't differentiate themselves. I don't think this is true, even with perfect L1 <> L2 <> L2 interop. L2s can still differentiate on plenty of axes, governance, tokens, execution engines, sequencing.. > If

All of these projects, including the fast confirmation rule, shorter slots and faster finality, are part of our goals to reduce time to inclusion and time to finality across the board, benefiting all builders. https://t.co/Vn4QkDXF2e

Top interop builders are saying it: Ethereum needs faster slots and faster finality. Mentioned in the pod too: Our fast confirmation rule, to be widely available early next year, gives builders a strong option to confirm L1 data before either shorter slots or faster finality
Interop Cheat Codes In this episode of Deeply Intents (🎙️,🎧) I chat with @ptrwtts founder of @RelayProtocol which is dominating cross-chain volume as of late. In the episode we discuss: - Relay's architecture - Vaults for solvers - Intents & Resource Locks - DEX

Ethereum should strive for zero idle resources, at all times. Idle CPU, network bandwidth, memory == wasted potential. Short-term: - Ensure that Ethereum is putting all metal allocated to it to productive use, at every second. - Perf engineering should be a first-class priority
And the profiling work continues! We've instrumented networking libraries to the core to identify more implementation-level hotspots, which could otherwise be mistaken for protocol design-level bottlenecks. 🚀
