people will right away misunderstand what "terrible" means here and defensively point out that Trump is worse. Trump is now on his second term and completely sets the agenda. Good opposition leadership means having an effect on the dominant party's agenda -- and they don't.
How did one of America's two major parties end up with such terrible leaders over the last 8 years? It's really remarkable when you think about it. Chuck Schumer, Hakeem Jeffries, Kamala Harris, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden.
