The bogus self employment at RTE was epic. For years they got away with not paying increments and refusing access to the pension scheme. I could not even join the portable pension scheme.

in RTE for decades. It is discriminatory and creates 'us and them' culture and horrendous stress.
Until we have full transparency on this behaviour RTÉ cannot move on: €2.6m in golden handshakes paid out to executives during Dee Forbes’s reign - & all this while staff were cut back !

if they plan to redress the recent and historic pension rights to current and former employees that were denied? Many like me were misclassified as self employed even though RTE was paying full PRSI for us as employees.

Bogus Self Employment was also a tool for managers to manipulate employees/workers. A contract and access to the pension scheme 'might' be available to you If you jump through various hoops.

One worker made a strong point I think: "Kevin Bakhurst said there was a moral case for Ryan Tubridy to pay back the money he owed from the Renault gigs. So why is there no moral imperative to pay loyal workers back for the benefits they were denied?”

This is really important Media Committee, Eversheds legal advice on RTE's liability for bogus self employment was never a 'Review' it was a cover up. The Committee has a right to see the eversheds legal advice.
