Really looking forward to watching The Peculiar Sensation of Being Pat Ingoldsby on @RTEOne after the news this evening. @SEAMUSMURPHY3’s portrait is a really sensitive, considered piece of work.

Can we all agree that people get ‘knocked down’ by cars? There is an increasing use of the term “collision”. It might sound more scientific but it tends to mask the fact that a truck or a car are very different from a cyclist or a child in terms of force.

Over 40 people have died in a shipwreck crossing from Tunisia to Europe. Journalist Sally Hayden has spent years reporting from north Africa on such tragic cases. “Everyone in the west should be… asking ourselves every day, how has the mass drowning of people become normalized?”

I’m so proud today of the people of Limerick who successfully defended our City Library from a group of far-right agitators who attempted to gain access to harass library staff, disrupt service and intimidate our LGBTQ+ community. Thank you all so much.

This was/is primarily about Sinead; personal story is to emphasise her true worth. But it was still terrifying to do. Support since, esp @irishexaminer colleagues has been magnificent & deeply moving. ❤️to all, especially Sinead #SineadOConnorRIP

The sacrifice Sinéad O’Connor made to create the first major public expression of support for the victims of clerical abuse meant so, so much to those thousands who were still suffering in silence.

RTÉ has the only purpose-built recording studio for orchestra in the country. Invaluable studios and spaces. Built and paid for in the 1960s. Solve things another way - don’t sell the family silver. These things are actually the hallmarks of ‘a state’. Or it’s just ‘a market’.

“It seems to me that all over the world people nowadays prefer to judge rather than to understand, to answer rather than to ask, so that the voice of the novel can hardly be heard over the noisy foolishness of human certainties.” - RIP Milan Kundera

The Czech novelist found himself silenced by the communist regime at home, but achieved international fame with playfully philosophical fiction

#ThroughHerEyes Look at this. A mural of Roesia de Verdun - the only woman in 13th-century Ireland to build a castle - is being magnificently brought into being by artists Niels van Swaemen and Kaspar van Leek for this year's SEEK Urban Art Festival in Dundalk. More on her 👇

Many people seem to be of the view that being dishonest in the pursuit and acceptance of )public) money is actually fine. That’s being a good business person. Often these same people are in receipt of public money. Mind your purse!
