I grow DTC brands profitably and optimize for joy. I teach you how to do the same here: https://t.co/m14cZvk82e.

"I would beg you not to start an e-commerce business.". @taylorholiday is the CEO of an ad agency that primarily services ecommerce businesses, yet that's still his advice to all of us. That's because he says that the path to liquidity, cash flow, and M&A market just aren't.

Or even better: do this analysis literally all the time.
Split your revenue out by new customer & returning during a sale period. Sometimes, new customer acquisition barely moves. meaning you should really just run the promotion to previous customers, and not plaster it all over your site. giving away valuable margin!.

Finance Operators is one of the best ecom podcasts. Both @MehtabKarta and @drewfallon12 come prepared with incredible topics. They go deep on businesses and styles of finances. It is worth going back to episode 1 and just binging. I did that this past week. Incredible.

This is a cool idea: a Slack Group entirely for supply chain questions & answers, hosted by extremely smart supply chain people. Get yourself or whoever heads your supply chain in there!.
You don’t need another 100-page whitepaper. You need a space to ask:.“Is this FOB quote fair?”.“Anyone dealt with tariffs this week?”. Join the Supply Chain Lounge; it has real answers from real operators. Low noise. High signal. Free to join. ⬇️.

You know when you have a conversation with someone and RIGHT AWAY you can tell that they have serious expertise in their subject matter?. Like: "I should take this person seriously. They're smart.". That's what I felt talking to @ChadCarleton on my pod.
@andrewjfaris @ChadCarleton Nice, excited to listen. Chad is underrated.

Want to save money on returns? Spend more on processing them. That’s the counterintuitive insight I learned from @chadcarleton when he came on the podcast a couple weeks ago. Most brands treat returns like a writeoff. Get the product back, refund the customer, move on. In some.

Has anyone used Proxima as a significant part of a solution to getting tagged as Health & Wellness, as this post (from the founder!) suggests you may be able to do?.
One of our clients is a multi-billion dollar health and wellness brand that doesn’t pixel their website. I repeat. they DON'T have pixel tracking for their ads. Here's why it's actually a good idea. Meta's restrictions have made it hard for health/wellness brands to use.

Post like this are why I consider Alex one of the best strategic thinkers here. This advice is thoughtful, practical, conversant with misunderstood analytical principles, and nuanced. Most problems aren't easy. Resist anyone who makes it sound like they are. Instead, listen to.
I think this one is going to ruffle some feathers:. A lot of what we learn from creative tests on Meta isn't broadly replicable, so it isn't really that valuable. Creative testing exists on a spectrum. At one end: these are the themes that generally work to convert prospects at.

This is the most compelling counterpoint to my "It's the best time ever for ecom brands" stance that I've seen (along with @rishabhmjain's post about Shopify 's data). I also think Lioran is right that there is probably a knowledge gap between the very smart people I talk with.
The intensity of brands closing shop this year is unreal. Not sure if it's macro, micro, or just the fact that our customer base is 1-4 years old so we have more instances. - Unlike previous years, 7 fig brands are closing as well.- We get request to chap 11 compliant books.

Hard for me to imagine a list I agree with more wholeheartedly.
Meta truths few admit: . 1. High CPMs are good relatively . 2. Hook rate has minimal impact on revenue . 3. Incrementality is the only truth. 4. Broad targeting will always outperform over the long run . 5. You have to choose between predictable volume or predictable.
