Worth noting that the channel is funded by advertising, NOT the taxpayer. Publicly-owned, commercially run. Still many people unclear who will read Tweets like this and think they’re paying for it, which will misinform their judgement

The overall tone of the speech was quite critical of the Cons current direction. Implying that the party was restrictive, and failing to connect to ‘normal’ and younger people. He said they need to banish the ‘Conservative Corbynistas’ who get hung-up on culture wars too.

As much as this is true, the major flaw in this argument is that the public’s right to life-saving healthcare is already unfulfilled - a large reason for these strikes in the first place. Staff can’t give patients this access right in current conditions.

Michelle Mone is not a ‘former’ member of the Lords. She is still very much a member. She just took Leave Of Absence which allows members to maintain their right to sit, despite being unable to attend for a period of time. She took this leave so she could ‘clear her name’.

I don’t think it’s fair to say that because you personally didn’t feel threatened, those who did were ‘unfounded’. There were about 2k protestors there last night, and even if there had been zero, you can understand why MPs would feel anxious about their safety at this time.
I left Parliament at ~7.30pm yesterday (via the Peers' Entrance, to be exact) and didn't see a single protester. So any fears that MPs may understandably have had were unfounded.
