My recent work with @genikhovich is now online as #preprint! I examined the mechanisms behind #BMP signaling in the secondary body axis patterning of the anthozoan cnidarian Nematostella (sea anemone). https://t.co/pORCmmmwtS Below a short teaser.

Cell-cell contacts orchestrate tissue assembly and diverse cellular interactions. 🎯But what mediates their intricate patterns?🤔 Join me, @feyzanar, in exploring the interplay of adhesion and subcellular mechanics in contact patterning.

Nature Physics - Friction forces at the interface between tissues play a key role in tissue morphogenesis. Now friction at the cellular scale is shown to influence cell shape and cell rearrangements.

Are there multi-or pluripotent stem cells in anthozoans? This great work by #andreasdenner and other lab members shows that nanos2 is essential for the germline. Transgenic nos2+ cells give rise also to somatic cell types in #Nematostella:
