Really great piece from @nmensah5, Abib Duut and Mohammed Shaaban on the importance of equitable international collaboration.
Early-career biologists @TheCrick argue that global research collaborations should be more equitable and encourage their peers to step up. We are junior scientists from emerging economies, the world needs more researchers like us solving global problems

UK visa costs are some of the highest in the world. Reviewing and addressing these high costs is a necessary step in attracting and retaining international scientific talent.
The cost of visas for scientists at our research institutes is set to rise by 44% in a year. This will discourage scientists from coming to work in the UK and take vital funds away from our life-saving research. We’re calling on the new government to make its #First100Days a

Pumped to share our latest and first (!) work from @_Priya_R lab @TheCrick! Using the powers of #zebrafish, we uncover how multiscale mechanochemical coupling drives morphological and functional maturation of the developing heart 🫀 Stay tuned for the🧵 https://t.co/0MxXSef9bJ

How simple tissue primordia sculpt complex functional organs, robustly and reproducibly, remains elusive. As the zebrafish embryo grows into a larva, to improve its heart function, the embryonic...

Proud to see my PhD work published in @embojournal! We developed PUFFFIN, a cellular neighbour-labelling system, and demonstrated its effectiveness both in vitro and in vivo. In mESCs, PUFFFIN revealed that cells synchronise exit from naïve pluripotency with their neighbours.
Positive Ultra-bright Fluorescent Fusion For Identifying Neighbours (PUFFFIN) allows visualization and isolation of surrounding cells in culture, tissues, or embryos, for profiling non-cell-autonomous responses @_CellySally_ et al https://t.co/CoefaolcCt
