"Scope of practice is not a matter of red, amber, green'. Well, it is for doctors! I supervise 2 Anaes trainees. I literally have to choose: Red - needs direct supervison Amber - indirect supervison Green - capable of independent practicn
There is one theme that I am 100% FED UP with and makes ZERO sense: 🔹We are to accept that scope of practice for PAs is individual 🔹At the same time for doctors it’s a defined path of progression paved with blood, sweat, tears & debt

Imagine. Spending 5/6 years of your life studying Medicine. Stressing over countless exams. Ensuring you're good and safe enough to be a doctor. Coming out with £100k student loan debts. Then, get told you are RANDOMLY allocated your first doctor job ANYWHERE in the country.

**GP hubs will only have ONE GP** ALL other staff managing patients will be NON-doctors. The “Care coordinator” triaging will NOT be a doctor & will decide who sees you (likely NON-doctor) It’s here, it’s been enforced & it’s happening from NEXT MONTH! 🚨 SOS NHS 🚨

@Parody_RCGP @mouseter_chef I can’t believe it either - I feel numb with shock. I’ve only got GP work booked for another 3 weeks, then nada. Loads of experienced GPs also being replaced by people without medical degrees?! Genuinely WTF is happening. We’ve been sold down the river

With upheaval on X (formerly Twitter), what does this mean for the online dermatologist community? What direction are we going in? Is it time to reflect? Read our letter in @Derm_Journal - written earlier this year & published today #dermtwitter

I am a NHS consultant. I am financially comfortable, in a job I love, so why am I striking tomorrow? Answer: Because the next generation will not be able to live off what I do today. The juniors that will become these consultants know this and are leaving already. Why? 🧵 👇

#BAD2023 I had a great day at the BAD Annual Meeting, and it was a pleasure to present our audit on post-dermatologic surgery complications within NHS Lothian at the @BSDS_Official e-poster walk. Thank you also to Dr Rice for being the best mentor! 🤩 #dermatology #choosederm
