✅ Waiting lists are down by 230,000 since July 2024. 🏥 Thanks to NHS teams, more patients are being seen and treated sooner. 📣 We’re pushing on with the 10 Year Health Plan to keep care moving.

ACPs picking up SENIOR REGISTRAR shifts?! To put in context, an ST5 dr would have: ✅ Minimum 5 yrs medical degree ✅ Minimum 7 yrs of experience as a dr including 4 years specialist training Yet ACPs with NO medical degree are doing this after a 2 yr course It’s criminal!

Doctors, Next time you’re stressed, tired and want to go home at the end of your shift, and your local managers try to guilt you into helping your underfunded and understaffed services with a rota gap etc. Remember this👇🏼 They gave applause to a politician’s attack on doctors.

Next time you wait 12 hours to be seen by a doctor in A&E, remember that 14 doctors applied to treat you. Doctors are unemployed, and cannot find work, whilst patients wait longer.

Why are resident doctors going on strike?  While patients wait longer to be seen in A&E, too many qualified doctors who could treat them can’t get a training job.

I've said it before, I'll say it again. Doctors deserve FPR, better working conditions, better job prospects. The Government say we're greedy. You know what's greedy? Building political careers off of not investing in your health service, gaslighting staff that they aren't

Modernise and reinvest. He has "billions" to play with? How about you stop throwing money into CT scanners when you dont have the radiologists to read the scans? How about a few more obstetricians to help mothers? How about you stop using the publics lives as a negotiation tool

The destruction of Nord Stream by Ukraine: cost Germany 2 to 3% of GDP, lost 300,000 German manufacturing jobs step changed European gas prices adding 40% to your UK gas bill and 25% to your electricity bill And the entire western media in unison peddled the blatant lie that

How can someone provide “consultant geriatrician input” if they are not a consultant geriatrician? Our non-medical colleagues should ofc hold senior roles in their field. But (& it still surprises me this needs to be said), there is no place for non-doctors on a senior Dr rota.

Wes has said he will ‘Bring back the Family Doctor’ is he planning on bringing them back from the dead Failure to listen to front line GPs like @drfariahmad will result in worse care for patients There are better ways & GPs are really clear they want better access to GPs for all

Shall we pop over to Wales today. A new ACP role in the hospital at home group. Working autonomously and prescribing in people's homes. Some supervision from a consultant. Let's push people from the safety of hospitals, to their own home where a non-doctor can have a go

Prof Ball, by that logic, do you therefore agree that ACPs/ ANPs/ PAs should not be deployed on “middle-tier” rotas to cut locum expenditure spent on medical doctors?

@The_Gusman @alisonleary1 Registered nurse gaps can only be filled by registered nurses. That’s what the research evidence shows. Lives are put at risk if there are not enough RNs to deliver and coordinate care. #safestaffing

Two hundred years ago, maternal mortality was about 5 per 1,000 live births in some areas of England. What changed? Modern medicine. I'd want a birth where I know my baby and I are safe, healthy, and the worst possible scenarios are accounted for. I'd want a doctor.

Doctors are being replaced by ACPs in the UK. Your loved ones are being treated by non-doctors and you've not even had a say in this. This is not safe.

100% agree with Professor Ball here. RN gaps can only be filled by RNs. And therefore; 🔹Doctor gaps can only be filled by doctors. 🔹Physio gaps can only be filled by physios. 🔹Paramedic gaps can only be filled by paramedics. End the blurring of professional boundaries.

This anon PA should be congratulated on saying the quiet part out loud. That though Drs are the only group qualified to practice Medicine, NHS is replacing them with medically unqualified workers, with Drs being relegated to “supervise” poor quality replacements. @wesstreeting
