@ArthurB @zengjiajun_eth IMO in 10 years, all rollups will be ZK and will commit blocks with finalized state roots to L1 every slot. It will take a lot of infrastructure and prover optimization to get there, but that's the clear endgame.

Mina’s architecture is the only settlement layer design that scales over the long run (+ modular components) . This is why the rollup-centric roadmap exists. We’ve taken the long road and it takes time, but you only get one shot at design.
No monolithic blockchain, no matter how vertically scaled, can handle infinite tps. But infinite tps is what’s on the menu for mainstream adoption. WeChat and Alipay have had peaks of 500-700K tps. As has Amazon. Visa and Mastercard, 40-65K tps. High frequency trading can.

Firmly believe that distributed, verifiable compute is the only viable long term path to scale . Replicated state machines will eventually turn to zk as costs become unbearable. But you only get one shot at designing the base layer.
