MIP9 (higher account update limits) aims to boost zkApp performance by tripling account update limits per transaction. This means more sophisticated zkApps that better serve user needs.

If a zkApp is like a smart contract program running on Mina, then events and actions are how that program interacts with the blockchain world around it. With the implementation of MIP8, each zkApp transaction will be able to carry more information and instructions, enabling

MIP7, which proposes to expand on-chain state fields 8 to 32 fields, will give zkApp developers more room to keep important application data directly on-chain. For users, this means more capable apps, better reliability, and stronger security!

The first of four MIPs proposed for the Mesa Upgrade is MIP6: Slot time reduction. By cutting slot time in half to 90 seconds, blocks can be created more often, improving throughput and responsiveness all while preserving Mina’s succinct design.
