I've been busy cooking up this integration, and now that the news is out, it's time to explain it in more detail.
Lets talk about how the Nitro x Celestia integration lets you deploy high-throughput Orbit chains by streaming modular DA from Celestia 🧵
Announcing integration into
@Arbitrum
Orbit 🪐 and the full Nitro ⚡ stack.
Developers can soon deploy a high-throughput Orbit chain as easily as a smart contract using Celestia as modular DA ✨
Really happy that part of my hard work at
@CelestiaOrg
made it to
@eigen_da
's upcoming Nitro integration! Cool thing is that my name is also mentioned in "their" work 😁
Today October 31 Celestia Mainnet Launch, some time around 4pm CET,
@colludingnode
and I submitted files to Celestia as some of the first blobs in the chain's history.
Now I'm going to show you how to do the same 🧵
Really cool exercise you can try yourself rn on Manta.
Go to the sequencer tx on etherscan, remove the first byte (version number), take the next 8 bytes and find the block height on , then take the last 32 bytes and look for that commitment!
This is a tx posted by the Manta sequencer to the Inbox. The encoding is made of 3 parts: a version number (0x02), a block height (0xa4aa050000000000) and a blob commitment (the rest). Since a height is specified, the node knows where to look.
Since launching yesterday,
@WillPapper
's
@farcaster_xyz
Frame built using Syndicate Frame API and Chain would have consumed over $260,000+ in gas on Ethereum—but it has only consumed a tenth of a cent on Syndicate Frame Chain 🤯
mm data avaiability so good yes yes yes ooo slurp slurp yes yes yes thank you Celestia slay haha slurp bark bark bark mm data avaiability so good yes yes yes

Oh, and also let me know if you need help figuring out how to spin up a local Nitro testnet, since you also seem to be using the modified nitro-testnode repo I worked on
which is still running a local-celestia-devnet for da 🤔🤔

Succinct team is truly locked in, so much so that they made SP1 so that anyone who wields it can be as locked in as them and as cracked as 10
@ratankaliani
’s.
Study Succinct, TendermintX, and SP1.
Huge lesson in there.
One thing that's not reflected in this announcement is how hard we've had to grind
@SuccinctLabs
to get to this point.
Our speed & quality of work are a direct result of our 10x engineer hero coding sessions and late-nights in the office.
We're not going to stop anytime soon.
The god Anubis once balanced hearts against a feather to judge if they were light enough for the afterlife.

Catch me at my workshop and let me show you why:
Celestia is a modular data availability network that securely scales with the number of users, making it easy for anyone to launch their own blockchain.
And how you can deploy multiple rollups in just a couple of minutes!
Our solutions engineer
@dferrersan
from the Celestia Labs Devrel team will also be giving a workshop “Deploy Rollups with Modular DA in minutes”
📅 Friday November 17th at 3:20 PM in Workshop Room 3.
The core of Nitro and its key innovations can be summarized by four big ideas:
1) Sequencing, Followed by Deterministic Execution
2) Geth at the Core
3) Separate Execution from Proving
4) Optimistic Rollup with Interactive Fraud Proofs
While the Bitcoin whitepaper is hosted on 1,000+ web sites, it's also stored on Celestia as a blob.
If you run a Celestia light node and use , you can fetch pdf from:
Height: 398
Commitment: 8b9fcdcbbe864694fd91f74edbdc7603272780eeb85d94fc3968341873ac7aec
While the Bitcoin whitepaper is hosted on 1,000+ web sites, it's also stored on 20,000+ machines that run full node software since the whitepaper is embedded in the blockchain! If you run a Bitcoin Core node on Linux, you can extract it with this command:

BREAKING: announcement from onstage at
#SuiBasecamp
: we’re excited to share the first handheld gaming device with native Web3 capabilities – the SuiPlay0X1, powered by
@PLAYTR0N
!
1/ We are excited to announce Succinct Processor 1 (SP1), our first generation, 100% open-source zkVM that proves arbitrary Rust programs.
SP1 targets an order of magnitude performance improvement vs. existing zkVMs, and is already up to 28x faster for certain programs.
Mina zkApps with Celestia underneath ✨
@CelestiaOrg
’s modular data availability layer is coming to Mina Protocol, enabling higher-throughput zero knowledge applications and L2s
@__geometrydev__
will spearhead the integration work with technical support from
@o1_labs
🧵
We are very excited to have
@CelestiaOrg
in the Arbitrum Orbit ecosystem 🪐💙
Now, everyone can easily deploy a high-throughput Orbit chain on Arbitrum Sepolia using Celestia as modular data availability leveraging Nitro’s fraud proofs 🏎️!
The code we used can be found here:
This simple Go tool lets you read any file and submit it to Celestia (assuming the file is not bigger than the block limit, currently set at 2MB), and also lets you read the contents of a blob into a file.
This thread would become too long if I explained all of them, so if you want to learn more, check out:
Now, let's talk about the integration and where Celestia comes in relation to these ideas.
@smsunarto
It’s simple, just follow the
@Jskybowen
diet, grass fed beef, beef tallow, Pork cracklings for snack, and then I personally throw in some gorilla mode preworkout and creatine monohydrate
You see, the true power of zkVMs is that they allow non-zk brainlets like me to do the equivalent of 2 months of
@ratankaliani
giga brain man power, in one afternoon
4/ SP1's precompile-centric approach shows, for the first time, that zkVMs can have performance comparable to, and sometimes better than, custom hand-rolled circuits.
Development time with SP1 is *100x faster* and more maintainable compared to circuit-based approaches.
Shoutout to
@dferrersan
on the Solutions Engineering squad in the Devrel team for leading work on this integration.
Homie been doing all the cool integrations we have, with Arbitrum Orbit, Polaris, FuelVM and supporting OP-Stack.
We will have docs early 2024 for Polygon CDK 🙌
1/ Introducing SP1 Reth: a POC that showcases how any rollup can build a performant, type 1 zkEVM with <2000 lines of maintainable Rust code using SP1.
SP1 Reth already achieves $0.01-0.02 avg proving cost/tx by leveraging SP1's 100% open-source, customizable precompile system.
"ZK Tendermint" is finally here with the release of Tendermint X!
We're excited to bring this to fruition via our collaboration with
@CelestiaOrg
on ZK-powered Blobstream, which is live on testnet today.
🚢🚢🚢
Last but not least, couldn't have done this without the help of
@PlasmaPower0
, who answered all of my Nitro questions and guided me through the codebase.
And a big shoutout to all my Celestia Labs colleagues that helped me along the way!
bm, henlo, and further more, ooga booga.
Congrats to

I'd like to reiterate that I will not be relocating to the dystopian hellscape of NYC that many of you call home, but I will unfortunately be in town for the next 3 weeks.
The efforts of
@CHAMIRachid3
and the
@SuccinctLabs
team, which enables developers to spin up their own high-throughput blockspace thanks to programmable truth and modular DA, is one of the most egalitarian things I've ever witnessed
Celestia's Blobstream is live on

Blobstream enables developers *in any ecosystem* to spin up their own high-throughput blockspace with Celestia underneath ✨
PSA “TPS” is a very useless metric, even more so if the numbers used come from a testnet, and even worse, a single node setup with non conflicting transactions
