Fans come from every corner of society and have a range of different views on strike action.
But we'll tell you what - no strike can cause anywhere near the disruption that broadcasters cause matchgoers every week and we hear NOTHING about that from Sky, BT or the BBC.
According to Chief Constable Mark Roberts a simple plastic seat can:
- Stop people taking cocaine
- Prevent racism
- Stop people throwing things
- Drinking
Amazing things, eh?
Liverpool's away game at Chelsea is the first time fans can watch from standing areas for nearly 30 years ⚽🥅
Safe standing areas are being trialled at a number of grounds but Cheshire's Chief Constable has raised concerns.
@LFC
Today King's Speech confirms an independent football regulator is on its way following years of FSA lobbying.
It means:
🚫No to EuropeanSuperLeague
⛔️Powers to intervene in badly run clubs
📝Stronger tests on owners
📢Increased fan voice
⚽️Protection for badges, stadiums etc
🗣️ "It is a great day for the history of football"
Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is supportive of the prospect of a new European Super League ⚪
Congratulations to

Supporters should be free to make fair and legitimate criticisms of any club owner without fear of punitive bans.
No exceptions.
Punished because I tweet as myself and I don’t hide behind a username / faceless account.
Myself and my 13 year old son, season ticket holders, home and away and because I have my own opinions my boy now suffers because I can’t take him to the football. Gutted 😢
Accepting his award,
@IanWright0
told us he was 'very humbled and honoured' to win the Pundit of the Year. "To be able to talk about football, and for fans to appreciate what you say, and to vote for you, means a lot, especially in these times of instant criticism."
It was with great sadness we received yesterday's news that the Queen had died peacefully at Balmoral. Following that, the football authorities have today said the game would be postponed, from the PL to grassroots. Our response is below.
Coincidentally PL CEO Richard Masters is appearing before Parliament tomorrow and he'll no doubt point to this as evidence that an independent regulator isn't needed and the PL can manage this stuff in-house.
Too late! Independent regulator now.
Media: "Rising football arrests"
FSA: "Falling football arrests"
Why the difference? Because
@ukhomeoffice
has moved the goalposts to include people arrested while watching football on TV!
We don't think that is valid.
🧵A thread on the arrest stats🧵
Stoke City onto their 17th consecutive price freeze while Arsenal, Chelsea, Fulham, Manchester City and Spurs bank huge media deals - and still can't resist raising ticket prices. Why?!
Football has a spending problem, not an income problem. Stop squeezing supporters.
Season Cards for the 2024/25 season are on sale now with prices frozen for a 17th consecutive campaign.
The Club is again offering one sales window at one frozen price, together with the option to spread the cost over 12 monthly payments by purchasing by March 31st.
Seriously, if you’re a club owner or football financier who thinks a global health crisis is the perfect opportunity to rip up and reshape football to suit billionaires... you have no idea how much fans detest your concept. It will not go how you think.
🔺 EXCLUSIVE: Newcastle United will make a 21,000-mile round trip to face Tottenham Hotspur at the Melbourne Cricket Ground on May 22 — three days after the conclusion of the Premier League season
@barneyronay
On the reported whim of a Qatari ruler promises and info that has been shared with supporters across the planet is ripped up at a moment’s notice.
Ok, it’s just a beer, but it speaks to people’s fears about whether other far more important commitments can be trusted.
No more off-the-record briefings to journalists. No more leaving your managers and players to field questions from the nation's media.
Stop hiding.

Top-flight games will be played in empty stadiums and the PL refuses to broadcast almost half of them. Matchgoers have no legal way to watch their team. It's not right. Fans call on

Does any other "industry" treat its fans like this? Imagine a theatre refusing to schedule a show because they want to give TV viewers first dibs.
There are

games in 4 weeks which fans have already bought tickets for and no-one even knows when they're happening.…
📺 PL / TV / KO 📺
Been chasing
@premierleague
on fixtures for 20-21 April and 27-28 April - supporters need to book travel, time off work, even hotels. Always an issue.
Hear they'll be released next week following FA Cup semi-final draws & UEFA competition results.
#Update
Chelsea spent £75m on agents fees in the last two transfer windows - pretty sure that is a Premier League record. Adds to their financial challenges for this season
Tragedy chanting reared its head again yesterday.
Totally unacceptable but also worth highlighting the progress on this issue in recent years with
@spiritofshankly
leading the way in condemning ALL such chants & great support from likes of Forest fans at Anfield last week.

FSA STATEMENT
72 hours of white hot anger has killed domestic involvement in the ESL but that doesn’t mean fans can take their foot off the accelerator. A return to the status quo is unacceptable and will only allow unscrupulous owners to regroup.

NEW: Jon Miller, leading exec at NBC Sports, who have $2.7bn rights deal to show Premier League in US, tells

he will “continue to push” for top-flight matches in America. Suggests a couple of matches from Premier League’s opening weekend.
Concerning times for

Boxing Day, once a highlight of the footballing calendar and a decades-long matchgoing tradition, is being torn to shreds by the broadcasters.
#TVchokehold
2 weeks ago we met
@premierleague
to ask why the deadline for announcing TV games is missed so often. Nightmare for matchgoers. PL apologised & said they were "working to ensure the next target date (Dec & Xmas period) would be met."
Fast forward 2 weeks. Deadline missed. Again.
So
@ArsenalWFC

@VivianneMiedema
becomes the first player to win back-to-back Player of the Year awards at the

. She even found time to send us a quick thank-you...
We hear PL, Sky Sports & police have failed to finalise games (again) which means the PL may miss their 5-week target (again) causing the usual problems for matchgoers (again).
Travelling fans expected to buy tickets for games that have a big chance of moving. Not good enough.
Football & TV KOs raised in Parliament yesterday.
"Television's impact on travelling football fans is worsening making it unworkable for people to get back from these fixtures on public transport and it's happening on a much more regular basis."
@IanMearnsMP
👏👏👏
624 away fans to miss this game because
@premierleague
&
@SkySports
messed around with KO times for weeks then
@metpoliceuk
cut the allocation to 2370 - and refused to properly explain why to fan groups.
@MU_ST
considering legal action.
A dangerous precedent for away culture.
Chelsea v Man United finally confirmed as 5.30pm kick-off on Saturday October 22.
But only with reduced
#MUFC
away allocation: 2,994 to 2,370.
MET Police originally tried to cut to 1,500.
Full tickets already sold. Total disdain for match-going fans.
So the
@premierleague
has missed its deadline for announcing TV picks. Again.
@SkySports
and
@btsportfootball
bicker over who gets what game, while matchgoers lose out. Again.
Not good enough. Again.
We've long been opposed to dry trains that target football fans for just being football fans on a day out.
This move from LNER for the League Cup final won't achieve much & has completely misread the mood amongst
#NUFC
fans, which will be celebratory regardless.
Passing on tickets amongst friends and family is a part of fan culture and something the FSA generally supports.
Putting the ability to do that behind a £50 paywall & dumping the admin onto fans isn't exactly progress.
Great message from the Holmesdale Fanatics.
It followed applause before KO in memory of 15yo Elianne Andam who was tragically murdered in south London last month. RIP.
The PL wants the EFL to sign a new deal allowing relegated clubs to spend 85% of revenue on players while limiting EFL clubs to 70%. It means £110m v £20m transfer budgets.
It's almost like PL club owners want a closed shop.
#FootballRegulatorNow
January 2024 - PL CEO Richard Masters tells MPs in Parliament he would not lobby for or against a Football Governance Bill.
April 2024 - PL CEO Richard Masters writes in The Times saying: "The Government should leave the Premier League alone."
So which is it
@premierleague
?
🔺 EXCLUSIVE: Chief executive Richard Masters believes Football Governance Bill would give a regulator unprecedented power, and reduce the appeal of sport in which the UK is a ‘superpower’
Leeds United will offer reciprocal deals to other clubs, meaning away fans could see big reductions in ticket prices – if own club comes to an agreement.
We'd encourage all C/ship supporter groups to speak to their clubs ASAP. Big savings to be made.
Ah, the old political comms argument regurgitated by owners that “we just failed to get our message across to the electorate”.
You did get your message across and fans hated it. How could it possibly be any clearer?! They are absolutely clueless.

The £30 cap in the Premier League has been a great success - saving fans millions and ensuring away ends stay full.
This might not be a Premier League game, but the FA Cup should never be used as an excuse to ramp up costs and rip off fans. Keep the

Entering a stadium without a ticket (aka tailgating) is dangerous and wrong - it's also already against the law and clubs can ban anyone who does it for as long as they like.
