They both suck but being poor in a rural area especially in a red state is way worse. No non profits, no public transit, no free clinics, access to social services is almost nonexistent, etc. It’s too fickle and reliant on the kindness of individuals vs. institutions
City poor is absolute worse. Country poor there is always somewhere to stay, some land, some house, some inheritance. City poor is way closer to being unhoused and being unhoused is almost impossible to come back from
