Without NIH funds to run research labs at academic institutions, as a country we cannot train PhD students. No physician scientists. No undergraduates get experience in labs. Nothing. Industry does none of these things. Other countries will have to take the lead.

Early this morning, I offered an amendment to increase funding and prevent any cuts to Alzheimer's research at the NIH. Republicans blocked it.

Woke or biology? There are actually more than the basic ā€œmaleā€ XY & ā€œfemaleā€ XX sexes. Why? Because biology also creates people with single X chromosomes, or extra chromosomes like XXX, XXY, XYY, or XXX+, plus many 🧬genes. šŸ‘‰All I’m asking is— please be kind to others. ThanksšŸ™

About a month after Donald Trump took office as the 47th US president, almost all grant-review meetings remain suspended at the US National Institutes of Health (NIH), preventing the world’s largest public funder of biomedical research from spending much of its US$47 billion

Fun #epgienetics review for Sunday! Histone PTMs and DNA-templated processes (e.g. transcription) are deeply linked, but the mechanisms driving their cross-talk remain unclear. López-HernÔndez et al. cover the latest research on this key question - Enjoy! https://t.co/2f9lf4D8OM
