This is just one reason why all cycle lanes on main roads should be built with stepped kerbs and full protection from selfish and incompetent drivers.
Just cycling through Enfield to work this morning in on a bitterly cold day, driver ahead pulls into cycle lane, passenger flings open door to fully obstruct lane without looking. Car windows full of ice. The driver should hand back their licence. @EnfieldCycling @JourneysPlaces

@roadcc A jury full of drivers finds a driver not guilty of killing a cyclist by dangerous driving. Subtext: deaths like this are unavoidable. Accept of course, they're not.

All a bike thief wants for Christmas is 2hrs. After that, British Transport Police won’t investigate bike theft at stations. A policy change that gives thieves a free pass and tells everyone else cycling isn’t a priority. See it. Say it. Sort it yourself https://t.co/j7xySPiK4I

Wearing high viz does not stop careless drivers killing and seriously injuring cyclists.
I was dressed exactly like this when I was run over in Moycullen in broad daylight. The factors that most strongly influence cyclist safety are driver speed, enforcement levels, road layout, and safe cycling infrastructure, not what we are wearing. A 🧵

Look, there’s been a lot of criticism of the flags that have been painted / erected all over our country. But as I hope this photograph illustrates, it can be done in a classy, elegant way which enhances local community environments.

Not an "accident". It's part of the £41 billion worth of damage drivers cost the UK economy annually to clear up their collisions - almost all of which are caused by shit driving. Also one of an average of 60 road closures a day caused by drivers in London.

Everyone has lost their minds. If you want to put up a flag, good luck to you. Put it up on your own private property. Or get official permission.

21,000 views for this tweet about the police action faced by drivers who do not pass cyclists at more that 1.5m. Each time @RealityGuru__ replies to say it doesn't, several 100 more accounts get to see the post. Hopefully together we can get the message out to another 21k.
A yobbish passenger and yobbish driver. Passenger throws litter out of the window just before the van driver carelessly passes a cyclist without at least giving 1.5m of space. Police took positive action to the report. Morrison Park Homes #Rugby

Me and several others are called liars when we post about drivers being prosecuted or offered courses for close passing cyclists. It’s a fact, West Yorkshire Police are possibly one of the best forces when it comes to taking further action against people who close pass cyclists.
BBC Look North on W Yorkshire Police OpSnap taking further action against drivers who close pass cyclists. In the last year action was taken against 2,547 drivers who either paid for a retraining course or received a fixed penalty fine or a court summons.

Looking at the "New Met for London" police plan. There isn't a single mention of road crime, dangerous driving or traffic policing *. Yet of all crimes, road crime is the #1 cause of harm to Londoners. (No, it's not knife crime). Make it make sense. 1/ https://t.co/fTtZZYgUwG

Oh look, another BBC anti-cycling pile-on. I suspect the cases covered here weren’t in fact bonafide “e-bikes” and were in fact electric motorbikes - such is the quality of BBC journalism nowadays.

A man using a mobility scooter had to be rescued by the fire service as he became stuck between a wall and a parked car. How much longer must he and other pedestrians have to wait for a pavement parking ban and adequate enforcement? https://t.co/uNbeEF5cmT

The anti-cyclist activists always focus on the BEHAVIOUR of the families just trying to get around on bikes instead of focusing on what makes GETTING AROUND on bikes sketchy for them - drivers.
What are your thoughts on this parents actions and thought process? When cycling and the time I used to allow my child to cycle pre LTN I would NOT of been in that position… Those asking my kids can no longer cycle post LTN due to increased congestion and danger

You'd think he might have noticed that traffic noise is way more of an issue for so many people.. and maybe support measures for quieter neighbourhood zones
''How dare you invade the public space' John Stewart, Chair of the UK Noise Association, and etiquette coach Myka Meier spoke to #BBCBreakfast after Transport for London became the latest body to target the "disruptive behaviour" of passengers who play music and make calls using
