They were sentenced with 3 points on their licence and £690 in fines & costs. This gives us no pleasure but it is important that drivers understand they must be careful around those who aren't protected by 2 tonnes of metal, plastic and glass. On a more positive side..

Court: this Mustang driver was charged with 'Driving without reasonable consideration to others'. The keeper failed to identify who was driving so was charged with a Section 172 RTA. This was dropped at pretrial. On Tuesday they pleaded guilty to careless driving.

Now, most cyclists are also motorist, so they pay all those additional taxes, VAT, gas, etc. now

Enforcement is a key element - time to properly resource the dash cam reporting services @jocoles1 1.5FTE for the whole county is tokenistic at best. West Yorkshire has 7 FTE. The people of North Yorkshire deserve better.

I was dressed exactly like this when I was run over in Moycullen in broad daylight. The factors that most strongly influence cyclist safety are driver speed, enforcement levels, road layout, and safe cycling infrastructure, not what we are wearing. A 🧵
