Conflict in the Middle East has once again shown that clean power is essential for energy security. That’s why we’re speeding up action, with solar panels to be fitted as standard on new homes and plug-in solar to be made available in shops within months. https://t.co/DseJftAb4s

The plugs can be hung on balconies or fences and will soon be in the shops, it is hoped

Here we go again.. Global sea surface temperatures are yet again at extreme record warmth values, beating the previous record set in 2024. Unprecedented. Climate change really is running away from us.

People who live in areas with plenty of turbines should benefit from lower bills and help to stop wasted wind adding costs for everyone. Good to see government moving forward with these important principles.

Sometimes there is too much wind for our outdated grid to handle, especially in Scotland and the East of England. Rather than paying wind farms to switch off we’re trialling a new system where people who live near these constrained areas get cheaper - or even free - electricity.

You have no idea how many times a day accounts reply to my warnings about Covid infections with replies that all the harm is caused by vaccines. The truth is very different. Vaccines don't cause sudden death, in fact, they reduce the risk. But covid infections do cause them.

Data show that young, healthy people have no additional risk of sudden death if they are vaccinated against COVID-19, contrary to myths that continue to circulate widely. Read more: https://t.co/zzw8z8VAAm Photo credit: Phil Roeder / Flickr cc

This makes me increasingly convinced the US is heading for dictatorship. If figures linked to Trump are so outrageously engaged in insider trading, they know they could end up in prison for a very long time. Unless they're convinced something will make sure that'll never happen

We’re no clearer to understanding why Donald Trump claimed he had held “constructive” peace talks with Iran, but some people did make huge amounts of money from his false statements.

Donald Trump is the most corrupt President the US has ever seen. Now it looks like he and his cronies may have used insider knowledge to enrich themselves while their war makes everyone else poorer.

The govt's ban on new oil and gas licences is just lip service for as long as it plans to introduce ‘tiebacks’. This loophole allows *new* drilling, by connecting new sites to existing ones. This is indefensible when every drop of oil or gas burned puts our future further at

There is a real contradiction in supporting greener steel production if it is to go into the third runway at Heathrow, which will significantly increase emissions. We cannot tackle the climate crisis while locking in higher carbon outputs. #Climate #Heathrow
