This Paul Giamatti scene from Billions has been in my head for a bit. The egg one with his daughter and Mike Prince. It feels genuine, almost improvised, and reminds me of my own childhood (or lack thereof). Well done. Truly 5/5
Guys, it's been a pleasure! Had tons of fun. We've got to do another vid sometime!

stop making everything reels. You're making everyone from journalists, content creators, CEOs, and celebrities agree. It's now an app for everything you're advertising, not of my friends and people I think are cool.
@MegWegenke
Yes. The worst is when you can’t find them. Are they hiding behind you? In the void? Are they plotting world domination? Sometimes you jus don’t know.
Why didn't I do a build all these years? I've had manufacturers (awesome ones too) reach out, but the whole time only Linus had the right mindset about it. Most other people wanted to profit in some way; he wanted to get to know me and what happened first. That's a real tech tip!
Seeing a couple questions about the vid I'll list now:
Why didn't you do this sooner? I've been busy behind the scenes, I also reached out to Linus about it, then COVID happened.
Are you sorry for how the original went? Obviously, I wanted it to be "perfect".
A lot of my comments against some parts of the community that were sending threats rubbed some the wrong way. Sorry about that! But that's why I traveled 3000 miles to do this build. I've always prided myself in learning, so I hope it teaches you as much as it makes you laugh.
But more than anything, I'm happy the right video got out there. My goal with the vid was always to educate (even though the first time it was a guide on what *not* to do)! So, this is a nice way of wrapping all that up, especially with how my former employers handled it.

I know a lot of people will be supporting and maybe even apologizing (appreciate it lots!) but what's most important to me is the right video is out there. That was always the point. I can't be passionate about PC gaming and not have the stuff to back it.
BTW, to all the folks that for (whatever the reason) are still mad at me for a video from *years* ago about building a PC -- with some errors. I apologize.
Why am I saying this now? Because we all need to move on. Here's why:

Had email correspondence with her once during her days of running The Tig. Smart, chill, and well-mannered. It’s the Firm’s loss.
They came out with a Sharpie gel pen line? No no no, I’m sticking with Uniball. Writes much smoother, not sticky, doesn’t bleed through.... like thermal paste
@Franklins25
I'm definitely doing that, just not right now. I have other things I'm busy with at the moment -- and no they don't involve thermal paste lmao
No discredit to the chefs, this is gross BA. This is exactly why getting hired as a POC in media is a mess and “representation” here is really just execs saying “look at our POC friends cooking ethnic food”. — Why We Joined Bon Appétit via

This year was something: Visited Canada, made a proper PC build video with Linus, started Twitch streaming again (got gear sponsored by Logitech G), got triple vaxxed, got some bylines at Input Mag, and whole lots more! Grateful, but there’s a lot that isn’t right atm!
Saw Shang-Chi with the girlfriend. She loved the representation. It was so, so enjoyable. Loved the martial arts and story. The Rings are insane tools/weapons. I am thoroughly impressed.

Big Tesla recall. Should have stayed focused on that instead of focusing on Twitter and getting engineers to boost your results in everyone’s feeds.

Worked well for me. Encouraged me to make money, pursue what I want, be confident. All my peers my age were behind, immature, or confused. I went through my entire childhood and teenage years thankful for that. Not all parents can host a good homeschooling program, but it exists.

agreed, but it had that general feeling of what zoom and certain parts of LinkedIn are rn. It totally sucked, but it was forward thinking.
Today is also my last day at The Verge. I've made a ton of great friends here. And there are so many people that just love tech, just like I do. It's like having an work family.
