At least 33,000 children in parts of Tigray, Ethiopia, at imminent risk of death as conflict increases famine threat
This is a deeply disturbing statistic. And one, surely, that should be enough to criminalise conflict once and for all.
Not just a face in an archive.
We live in a world where hatred is rising from the ashes of all the bad choices we’ve made, and it is children who pay the heaviest price.
Remembering the past can help to protect the future.

Potential negligence by social workers, at least one judge, and now the police. Shocking.
An end to the war between Ethiopia and Tigray forces has been agreed.
The war has seen between 385,000 and 600,000 civilians killed during the two-year war in Tigray because of fighting, famine and lack of health care, according to a research team.

But this isn't just about power.
At least 1,900 children under 5 have died from malnutrition in Tigray, and babies are dying in their first month of life at four times the rate before the war cut off access to most medical care.

Speaking with an increasing number of children's social workers who are concerned about the way families are being treated in child protection proceedings, and who want to do something about it.
Such a lovely development.

Couple adopted vulnerable children to abuse
There is this misconception, fuelled by the adoption industry and government, that all adopters are good people. A lot more research needs to be done in this area.
The father “was awarded full custody of Sara and her 13-year-old brother in 2019. The Sun reported that Ms Sharif “was only allowed to see her children twice in the four years since she lost custody” and the former couple had been estranged since 2021.”
